I feel the same about birthdays and Christmas at the moment, I love them both, but could do without the expense right now.
I also look forward to my statements now so i can see how much (or little!) I've paid off. So I'm a geek too!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Well Im back to 'two jobs worn out' me again this week!
Its half-term so on a break from teaching so I've been doing extra shifts at hospital. Doing 3 this week. Instead of feeling the money is going into a black pit now though I can see it paying off my debts and it's a great feeling. Also Im enjoying the nursing as I dont have to do it to live.
So..wont have had a big a rest as some next week but will be better off for xmas. There is a woman at work who is always complaining about her money situation (It does sound dire) but she is also a nurse and could get extra work but she says 'Oh that's just impossible' etc etc. I think ...you are very lucky to be able to be in that position.
Anyway.. I just think sometimes you just have to do what you have to do to get yourself out of a mess dont you? By the 1st of this month I will have paid 17% off my credit card debt.:T Cant wait to put that on my signature.
Take Care All. Keep up the good work.:)Egg April 10 £6600 Jan £4678 now £0

Thanks jwil:)
Well think debt repayments are going to grind to a halt this month as Im sorting and paying for hols next year. It feels like a crazy thing to do when Im trying to pay of debts but we are definately both going to need a holiday next summer.
So..feel a bit of a dfw failure this week to be honest.:( Ive got that anxious feeling back because I havent got the money sat in the bank to pay for the holiday at the moment.
The good thing is that we seem to have cut our food bills by shopping on line. DH was cynical it would work but it is. Im still filling out spending diary - into 3rd month and it works so sticking with that.Egg April 10 £6600 Jan £4678 now £0

Well done on cutting the grocery budget, and I totally understand the need for a holiday. Don't feel like a failure, you've got til next summer before you go, so you should be able to get a lot if not all paid off by then!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Yay!:D Just got a letter from the Inland Revenue. I have overpaid tax so they owe me £200!
That will pay deposit on the holiday appartment. Was just wondering how to pay for that.
Going to get Xmas out of way then attack these credit cards again. Ive got a little xmas money saved up so that should help and not having loads of family round so hopefully wont have big food bill.
Hope everyone is ok and keeping up that debt busting work.:DEgg April 10 £6600 Jan £4678 now £0

Not bad thanks, I've just had a really nice lot go out, so very pleased with that :j Need to get some more listed now though."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Good morning all.
Well after my setback paying for holidays and such i feel like I am getting back on track. Ive had two weeks now where I managed to stay within my weekly budget.:)
Turned down extra work this month as I am completely exhausted. I knew I couldnt even consider it. Anyway if I stay within my budget I probably wont need it.
Im going to dig some clothes out to sell on ebay I think. Ive got some Boden and White stuff skirts that should sell. I hope.
Anyway, must get on. Ive got to contact my brother and ask him for my laptop back that I lent him some time ago. My daughter could use it and I know he is not using it. That should save some money in te long run.Egg April 10 £6600 Jan £4678 now £0
