Good afternoon... diary update
Got onto carphone warehouse. It seems that DH agreed to insurance which isnt true. Infact he told them the free phone was going to be in cupboard for a while so why would he want insurance. They are looking into our complaint. I think its a case of mis selling.
Hardly any money left out of this weeks budget as got DD's birthday pressie this week. A bit pricey but she will LOVE it. It means DH cant get his haircut!
Had to sort out other DD yesterday. Her and her little friend fell out with another friend (boy) and boys mum got involved. Ended up with me having to phone boys mum. Classic case of she said this and he said that. I really think though that if another parent feels the need to tell my DD off then I should have been contacted about it. Its so complicated being a parent sometimes.
E bay sale bid gone up so thats good.
So anyway got to get through rest of week with as little spend as possible now:( But we have put petrol in car and bought the food so Im sure we will get by.Egg April 10 £6600 Jan £4678 now £0

Hi,
Just wanted to drop in and say I think you're doing really well
It can be a struggle at times but I find that having a diary does really help.
Good luck

Hey Isy,
I so know what it's like when there are wrangles at school my 2 DD are 6 & 9, it's so true with the 'she said, he said' thing, most of the time i just try and stay out of it but as i'm sure you know yourself there are times (depending on the parents) when you have to step in or things are brought to your attention - the joys of parenthood!!
Well done with your organisation, i'm so gonna have to get a spreadsheet/graph mallarky going on (if i can work out how to do it - lol:rotfl:)
I started my 'spending' diary this week and unbelievably today i still have in my purse sleeping quietly the £11.03p i started off with on Monday - it is a complete and utter miracle!!!
Hope your ebaying makes you lots of money, someone else mentioned on their diary that this weekend is free listing weekend (no sure of the all the details) and as i've been procratinating all week about getting my ebaying underway (to help pay off debts plus ensure the house isn't going to collapse under the weight from stuff in the attic - haha) this weekend has to be the time.
Take care

You're doing really well so far Isy, fingers crossed you get some refund for the insurance, they can be sneaky with it sometimes!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Another update.......
The DD and her friend wranglings got worse and I ended up going to speak to one of the two mums. I felt as though I had to go into mummy tiger mode in the end and Im still really annoyed but dont suppose MSE is the place to pour my heart out about that although money plays a part as I do feel guilt as I have been doing two jobs to keep the wolf from the door and I should have nipped all this in the bud earlier.
The ebay thing has been a bit of a disaster as I didnt get paid but cant even be bothered to think about that.
Im working an extra night shift tonight but I hope I can really start to cut that down now as I think the budget works without me having to do the other job which is a big relief. The spending diary has really helped because before I was taking any extra work now I know what I need.
I went to the cash point this morning as bought little DD her first pair of school shoes. Promised her a lolly for being so good. Pressed the wrong button by mistake and instead of £10 got £200! Luckily my bank was across street so promptly paid it back in!
DH was talking about all his ideas for what to do at half term today. He is in fantasy land. I said maybe we could go to Alton Towers with vouchers. He said Oh and stay in Splash Landings Hotel. What do I have to do to make him realise? I hoped that by telling him he couldnt get his haircut last week because we had £2 left in that weekly budget might have given him a clue!
Anyway winge winge. I think that Im just down because I know I will be working for 12 hours tonight.
Anyway take care all. Hope reading this hasnt sent you all into a spiral of depression. Im sure by tomorrow I will be feeling brighter.Egg April 10 £6600 Jan £4678 now £0

Hey hun, hope you are feeling brighter today.
Hope all has now settled with the school wranglings - i know first hand what a nightmare it can be and how heavy it weighs on your mind.
I haven't even though about what i'm gonna do with the kids at half term, it won't anything expensive (debt repayment, christmas peaking it's head around the corner, car tax, new car savings, moving costs - OMG i've depressed myself now!!!)
Anyway, have a good day!!

Thanks trixiepix.
Im feeling brighter today. Realised after doing extra night shift that its just too difficult now to do both jobs. So next time they call it's going to have to be a no.
Told DH last night that half term is going to have to be cheap. We are going to have a day out on train to seaside but no stopover. I also checked out the YHA. They have some fab places to stay with family rooms so Im going to suggest we do that for one holiday.
My DD went to two different birthday parties over the W/E and my DH spotted the boy who caused all the trouble playing on his own and I just thought 'it's ok because my DD has lots of friends that really like her and want to spend time with her so why am I worrying'?
Spending diary is great. I feel much calmer now about money. I just felt in a constant panic before. Im a little worried that this government are going to get rid of child benefit. I keep hearing it said.
So this week got to plan little DD's birthday party and pick her up some extra bits and bobs.
Thanks all for reading.

Buy your DH a hair trimmer for Christmas. I bought one 10 years ago for £30, when you consider that a hair cut is at least £5 these days, it won't take long to pay for itself.
Also, ebay can be a bit of a minefield. Don't forget that after 4 days you can open a non-paying bidder claim and get back your fvf's.
Keep going with your debt clearence. Although perssonaly I would concentrate on clearing them off starting with the highest interest rate one first, even transferring your higher interest card balances on to the lowest interest earning card if you can, as this will speed up your debt clearence.Never Knowingly Understood.

Yes I thinks so too but I put all figures into snowball and it came out with paying off egg card first (I think because that will revert to 16.9%), then Santander, then Virgin.
No point me moving balances as they wont transfer onto 0% now.Egg April 10 £6600 Jan £4678 now £0

It sounds like you've had a tough few days Isy, definitely give your non payer a NPB strike, I've had to start one today. It takes the mick. Once they get two strikes they won't be able to buy from a lot of sellers as many have their settings to block people with two or more strikes.
I hope your DD manages to sort out her problems with her friend, or manages to stay away. It must be very worrying.
Have you had a look at Travelodge for rooms for half term? They started another of their £9 rooms sale last week - if you can get into one room it might be worth it, to have a night away."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
