Look, he probably has on-line accounts set up all over the place funded by this card.

Have the bank cancelled the card and preferably closed the accounts?

The card has been cancelled, they are fully aware of the situ and will not allow him to order a replacement card.

We do not know all of the accounts yet, the full extent of them is becoming more apparent by the day. Those that can be are being closed, yes.

You may find it useful to talk to Action on Elder Abuse (freephone helpline) http://www.elderabuse.org.uk/AEA%20Services/Helpline.htm
They are very experienced in cases of financial abuse and offer solid info on what steps could be taken, dependent on circumstances.

Thank you, I will pass this onto mum as well.

I know there has been mention of care home fees.

But there is also other implications if your uncle has taken all your GD's savings. And he now has no money how does he pay his bills?

He would be unable to claim any means tested benefits such as pension credits as well council tax benefit.

As it could be classed as deprivation of capital. This is leaving your GD very vunerable and things need to be put in to place asap.

Your GD father need to be made aware of the personal fiancial implications it has for him.

GD has been receiving approx £1100 pcm via various pensions etc. Uncle has left him approx £400 pcm for all expenses as far as I have been told, hence all bills paid etc. Enough to survive, but no more.

Skanky uncle does not need a card to take money if he is doing via internet banking. You must contact the bank and get the internet access stopped and if the bank offers it get a print of all the transactions and trace where money was going. As suspected above your uncle could have bounced money through a few accounts and could be sitting with a few K in a bank.

Also fwiw just because money has been transferred to an online bookie it does not mean he has gambled it. He could pay it into an online bookie account and possibly transfer out it again to a different account - id look into that possibility more. (Although bookies might only allow one card on an betting account to stop money laundering)

hope you get this all sorted out.

To be honest in this situation I would have got any cards or access he has had and taken it away and then when your GD dies I and the money missing becomes apparent from his will etc I would then call inthe police. Too late ofr your GD to save his !!!! then and he willl get everything the !!!!! deserves
