D'oh! Better get started... I wanna be Mortgage Free!!
Comments
-
Our aim for this year was to pay off £10K aka the unsecured loan attached to our mortgage, and we are well on track to achieve (and I am secretly hoping to pay off much more)...
I'm sure you'll do it, you seem determined enough to do it anyway.
Where 'bouts in Scotland you going to ? Holiday ?I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -

Hey Pammy
Thanks for stopping by, much appreciated
Concerning quiche fillings, yes its better to fry it in pan before adding it to the mixture.. especially if you have ham/bacon/mushrooms/peppers as they hold a lot of moisture (if you don't fry it, your quiche will be soggy (sp?) ) if you let me know what filling you want in it, and I can prepare a step by step guide for you..
I saw on another thread that you can work with mince..Mince is very versatile, so I can find you lots of recipes.. Let me know what you're thinking about cooking or ingredients you've got in and we can go from there...

I could get some mushrooms in as I put them in my spag bol and dont really use them for anything else and they get wasted. Also onions, maybe sausages thinly sliced to help the kids be ok with eating it? I dont like spicy or peppery things but if there is anything else that can go in it? Is there only a certain cheese that is good for quiche?
As for the mince I might try the cowboy hash michelle mentioned
Thanks Katsu, I have looked at easy recipe books and there are a few I have tried but sometimes they still seem too much hassle.
I want something that encorporates more veg but that you can just throw it all in like a nice stew or easy soup?
I should start a recipe thread for dumbos, err I mean beginners lolMortgage overpayment of £ 1,515.04 made this morning which brings our February total to £1,915.04...which is a bit less than we anticipated, but we have the Scotland holiday to pay for (which I will do later on this morning)..
Hopefully, its another step closer to mortgage freedom
I have been asked to sub tonight for another team at table tennis.. A bit of practice, and some good exercise for the diet!
Have a great day!

Here are the ingredients I have thrown in quiches in the past:
Bacon, ham, pork, chicken, courgettes, peppers, tomatoes, garlic, broccoli, pea, sweetcorn, spiach, mushroom, chili, any type of herbs, cheddar/emmental cheese, carrots, leeks..am sure there are plenty more, but my head has turned to mush
For the cheese i use low fat cottage cheese, as I was on a health kick, if not you could revert to using double cream, however its unlikely to work without pastry (don't worry it tastes nice, and I have fed kids before with it.. The quiche lasted about 5 seconds)
One pot dishes are the best, stew being the prime example.. Most of my stew are based on a beef bourguignon (might sound posh but its not).. Even better if you have a slow cooker.. I don't use mine that much as I cook every day from scratch..but plenty of people on here ca advise on that jkind of cooking.. Michelle is also a great cook and always has LOADS of ideas too..
Let us know what you are planning on doing and we will help out!

I feel very lucky that we still have payrises, its not the case everywhere.. I have been in previous where pay freeze was the norm.. I still think government will have to step in at some point.. If (more like when ) interest rates go up, many people will be in very serious difficulties...
