    Morning all!

Got £35 Amazon voucher from work this morning.. That should get us the office chair we need for the house..

The painter has started his last day of work, so thats one more thing ticked off the list too..

Been watching all the riots, and wondering when that would hit us.. Saw riot police vans and burnt out bins on my way to work this morning.. I would not be surprised if it all kicks off in Manchester tonight..

Looking forward to celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary on Thursday.. Good night out ahead..

    Hope everybody is well?

The rioting is frightening isn't it. I just can't see an end to it all. I hope your area is unaffected.

It all started kicking off in manchester & salford.. Police is on high alert around here... Police is everywhere, and helicopter hovering above...

22 more minutes at work, and I won't be long getting home.. Reports of looting & fires are spreading quickly, but its difficult to differentiate what is true and what are rumours...

A friend on facebook has updated that it's in my town! I dearly hope not. We had riots a few years ago on one of the rougher estates and there are plenty of sheep here that would follow the crowd.

Stay safe Froggy. Hope the anniversary plans are coming along well.

I'm surprised that you was in town so late Froggy with the rumours circulating mid afternoon. I hope you're work is o.k and you don't live anywhere near to it all.

It looks a right mess on the news, I've had to get out of bed at 3am to see if there was anything else. We're seen plenty of police cars flying past but thankfully we are a good few miles from the city center.
I can't be bothered updating this anymore

hope you are ok Froggy. I popped in this morning to check on you. I hate the thought of anyone being near it, let alone someone I know. Stay safe xx

    Morning all!

Well, it was an eventful evening & night.. I managed to get home ok-ish.. I avoided the yobs throwing bricks at cars going past, just.. I saw a lot of groups descending into town.. Lots of riot police too..
OH's work was closed by police yesterday on safety ground (she was working from home yesterday), and I have forbidden her from going to work today, so she is working from home today again...

I am back at work this morning, and had to drive through some of last nights trouble spots in Salford.. Some parts looked like a war zone.. Shope have been looted, lots of windows smashed up.. Crazy things on the telly, saw an 8 year old boy coming out of Lidl with a crate of beer on his shoulder, shouting: "Mummy, Daddy, I have got the beers you wanted!!"
The local tesco has been looted, post office has been broken into..
We heard police sirens all night long...

We were supposed to go into town to celebrate our wedding anniversary tomorrow night, but we'll have to wait and see whats happening before I need to take a decision...

Hope everybody is well & safe..

    Froggy,

I hope you have a wonderful wedding anniversary, but please don't got out in the evening to celebrate until it's definitely safe to do so. Have a special night in instead, and go out another time.

It is all very horrible, isn't it? It's been in the next town to me, and in my parents' town, only about half a mile from them. What we really need it lots of heavy rain in the evenings. People don't like rioting when they're going to get drenched, I've heard.

How frightening that the rioting was in your area, I don't know what goes through the minds of mindless hooligans (not much, think i answered that myself!)

You can celebrate your anniversary just as nicely at home. I do know of a quirky place called Frog Manor in Cheshire that serves delicious food but you can have your own Froggy Manor!!

    Hi Froggy,

I'm glad you are OK. I used to live in Manchester and watched NW news tonight, it's awful seeing what the rioters/looters have done and horrible to see the destruction to the places I recognise.

Have you thought about having a meal in a restaurant in the countryside instead of the city? There will be fewer sirens...
