sounds like on top of the RAM probelms it is having motherboard troubles, which would explain the other faults, chipset is probably corrupt.Scottish proverb - "Never drink whisky with water and never drink water without whisky"0

here is the response from the seller;
Hi there,
Oh no, that is most upsetting.
I'm so annoyed this has happened.
I know how disappointed you must be.
I know I would be.
As I stated in the listing I bought the wrong spec memory in error - I actually needed PC2700, so I wasn't able to test it, and just sold it on in good faith. I can only apologise and ask you to return it (I will then refund you your money to your paypal email address) so that I can then return it to the original seller in the US. I can't believe this has happened.
Bit gutted cos in the process its fried my computer....hmmm"He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,

Well I have finally got a new lappy but I am not sure what to do with my old toshiba as its sitting there collecting dust . The usb port at the back is broken, the pcmcia card slot doesnt work and the dvd drive doesnt read discs properly. This would cost a bomb to fix so does anyone have any other ideas??? Should i sell for spares or something???
Thanks in adv
By the way the laptop in question is the Toshiba Equium A60-692 P4 518/XP HE/25."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
