It may be time to bite the bullet and contact Toshiba as theCapt says.
Got contents insurance with accidental damage cover?
edit: If you rang Toshiba, do you know what date and time? Who you were speaking to? If you can prove to them that you checked this with their 'experts', you may be in a position to get this done under warranty.
I purchased insurance with Compucover a month ago...dunno if i can use it in this case though!"He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,

However the ebay seller said "bought in error" and he may have sold it on because it didn't work for him either! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

What is not covered by CompuCover?
Maintenance costs, electrical or mechanical breakdown, wear and tear, fraud and dishonesty, consequential loss and loss or damage caused by sonic bangs are not covered. Some of these may be covered under any warranty/extended warranty you may have and should be taken up with the relevant body.

I'd argue this is accidental damage rather than electrical breakdown. If they refuse to pay out on this, I'd cancel the policy and get my money back.
edit:
Just seen this though in the full t's & c's.
