Hope your day at work has gone OK, I think short days was probably the best idea although slightly worried that you have only just felt up to doing anything. In those circumstances I normally recommend a further couple of days off to make sure the person really is better.

Worst case scenario is that you will spend the first couple of days of your holiday recovering :(

Ok little update on my lists

    Work
    [STRIKE]check emails
update calenders and plan next months workload
    teleconference with my team
    read some reports[/STRIKE]
finish early - ended up working 10 til 3 but took things slowly

    Holiday
    [STRIKE]find suitcas
    iron clothes
    find travel iron and hairdryer
    pack clothes
    print off travel directions[/STRIKE]

    Home
    hoover living room
    clean parrots cage
take bottles to bottle bank (this might have to wait -very icy and all up hill walk)
    make twinks hobnobs for holiday
    put stew in slow cooker
Oops - not done very well here at all But I did
    • have egg and chips for tea instead of stew
    • washed towels
    • tidied bathroom

    Health and Sanity
[STRIKE]take proper breaks and drink water
walk Moo at lunch time[/STRIKE]this was an additional wallk to morning and evening not his only walk
read a bit of Road to Happiness bedtime reading
cut out pictures from magazine for new inspiration board
check out jobs pages Nothing at all in my neck of the woods. Did find something up North that looked quite interesting but too far to travel.

Fay - what do you reckon, did I do ok on the health and sanity. Really need to step this one up a lot.

Maty, thanks, I could have gone back to the Dr. They did tell me to do that last week if I felt I couldnt go back. But I negotiated short days with my boss and as I start my holidays on Friday and not due back in until 10th January then I thought that might be a good way to ease back in. I can cope with taking a few days of the holidays to recover I think. Must admit I found it quite hard to focus and concentrate today.

Just had a pleasant hour ironing and watching comedy shows on iplayer. I really dont do ironing but watching comedy really helped it along.

Hope you got things done today Cheri, and from your health and sanity list too! :T Such a good idea - one of my 3 50 day goals was to stay sane while doing the other two goals :rotfl: Think I've just about managed it (although it was touch and go yesterday). Hope you manged to finish early too - and hooray that your holiday preparations are going as planned :j

Afternoon all. Well, I just finished my very short week in work. Been brought to tears by my team who rang me via teleconference to wish me a very good Christmas. They are all out for the team party tomorrow so are in the mood to party!

Nearly there, only things left to do now is to put the money for the holidays into the different envelopes for different pots. This will help me work out how much I have to spend on frivolous things. All bills have been paid this morning so anything that is left in the current account is now all mine to spend as I wish. And there is more there than I expected.

Did I tell you all that I got a letter to say that my flat had been banded incorrectly for the Council Tax. They had it listed as a two bed not one bed and so it was a whole band higher than it should have been. Having only just moved to the area I had no idea of the bands so had just accepted it. So the news of the day is that my Council Tax is now paid up for the year 3 months ahead of time and they owe me some money. Tried ringing to get it back but the office is closed today so I will do that when I come home. It will help to have that chunk of money each month.

In other, less cheery, news OH says that two contractors have been finished at work and it looks like he will be finished in January! Oh well we did get an extra two months if that does happen and at least I would have had my holiday so can deal with things in a whole new frame of mind after Christmas I am sure.
I will surely have to get my MSE head on again.

From the highs to the lows, hey? How lovely to have the team teleconferencing you - and then to hear OH's news. Like you say, you're about to have the holiday - its happening, thats it. Enjoy, and return with pots of energy.

    It'll be great!

  • I think you did great

    (()) for OH

A wee idea of thing here - don't look at the price (I'd not recommend anything that extortionate, only an example) only the concept of what kind of room you'd need if you accidentally ended up with a couple of girls - about the exact room for a rabbit or an enclosed area of a compost heap size - ala Alys Fowler.......... you don't need alot of space, maybe you can think a bit and plot once you're home from your lovely holiday

    I'm gonna miss you!

Aww thanks ladies. Pip, I believe I have internet access in my chalet so I am taking the laptop with me and hope to get on there for some time. I will want to upload my pictures and I might even start a holiday blog. I have just packed my camera and intend to have a good session with it. Any tips for taking photos in the snow?
I saw those hen houses at the Grand Designs show last year. My friend and his son are both designers and they have designed a rabbit/guineapig/henhouse. They just need to build a protocol for it.

What a great link, thanks for that.

I meant to add that living where I do there are always hens and cockerels on freecycle. I am often tempted. Not sure what Moo would make of them though.
