Oh My Goodness me. Who said that skiing was easy (think it was OH). I spent today in a class with 9 Germans and a German instructor who spoke in German all day (funny that seeing as I AM in Germany)I quickly realised that my level of German is not what I thought. The 9 Germans refused to allow me to quit at lunch time........... something about me being very entertaining. They particularly like the first 10 minutes after i put the skis on and proceeded to launch myself down the slope, leaving poles behind and careering through kindergaten knocking 5 years old out of the way with the skill of a champion 10 pin bowler. They did ask me what F...............ING HELPPPPPpppppppppppppppp actually meant!

Lunch out of the way and I managed to learn how to turn left and stop.(It had nothing to do with the Jagertee that I guzzled to calm the nerves). The fact that the day ended with the rest of the group being able to turn right and left and I was still going in circles appears to have escaped the instructor as he advised me to bring along the money for the ski pass tomorrow when he takes us all up to the top of the mountain for a bit of practice on our snow ploughing. Should be interesting and fun for the rest of the gang if not for me. Russian businessmen seem much more appealing to me right now. I am aching all over and in places that I did not know existed.

Next time I have a bright idea to set myself a new challenge will somebody please remind me not to even go there?

On the MSE side, it has been a very cheap way of learning to ski as it would have cost me £20 per hour in Manchester Chill Factory and here it has cost me 80 euros for three days at 4 hours per day. Tiring but well worth it.

    Cheri

Please, please tell me you are going back tomorrow??????

My first ever ski school was the most fun :D Everyone is frightened of being the first to fall and it was such I relief once that had happened (me!) and everyone else relaxed.

Yes, your muscles will ache but I bet you had a huge grin on your face by the end of the day :D

You must keep going, it will get easier and then you will be joining OH on the slopes before you know it ;)

Oh Maty, I am going back. I am not a quitter. I would describe my grin as more of a grimace to be honest. Not convinced that skiing is for me. Yes I was the first to fall within 2 minutes of putting on the skis. I did actually crash through the kindergarten school and can only go one way but hey ho. At least the others are entertained by me. 2 more days to go!!

Sounds like great fun. LMAO about the Russian businessmen! How refreshing it must be to be in a country where they cope well with the snow!
