Cheri sorry the winter tyres will add to your holiday expenses. I only found out about it when I saw a letter, warning people, in the holiday section of the paper on Saturday, thought of you and looked online for a link to post. Sorry you are still not 100% - maybe this Wednesday is too soon to be going back to work ? Take care xxNothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

Ellidee, dont apologise I am glad that you saw the letter. I was aware of snow tyres but the tourist office had told me that only snow chains were required. Had you not spotted that letter it would be likely that we would have gotten into hot water so I am very grateful.
Now we are staying in Regensburg for 2 nights and I have been told that they are not yet part of the emissions zone system requiring a sticker in the window. What's the betting that is wrong too. Good news is you can buy the sticker in 5 minutes flat in a garage or service centre so I am not too worried about that one. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Good grief - travelling in winter on the continent with a car needs quite a bundle of administration, its really startling - but you're very nearly fixed, yes? I really hope so, so you can just start to look forward to the *fun* of it2023: the year I get to buy a car0

HA KC, you are not wrong. It has really been an eyeopener. However I have been glad of the distractions as I really needed something "fun" to work on. As this is going to be fun at the end of it all then I was quite enjoying the little stresses. It was a nice kind of stress if you see what I mean.
Not much left to do now other than logistics. Mr C is now going to travel home on Thursday so that we can have the tyres fitted to the car on Friday morning. Moo is being delivered to his holiday home on Friday afternoon which is back in the direction Mr C works. We are then travelling on to Mr Cs parents and staying there overnight before finally setting off on Saturday morning. Stopping in Ashford overnight Saturday and then onto the ferry early Sunday morning.
Between me and Cheery we could set up a travel company I think! I am becoming quite good at logistics.
Just not very good at getting in the shower to get ready to go to town. Better get a shimmy on.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Glad everything is coming together at last. Even though you have enjoyed sorting the little challenges I am sure you are more than ready for this holiday.

Thanks Maty. I have never been so ready for a holiday in my life.
Had a busy day today. Last day off before going back to work. First day that I felt up to doing things. So pottered into town to get my euros and do the first of my Christmas shopping. Came home and spent the last two hours finishing off my "how do I love thee? let me count the ways" jar for a present. Quite enjoyed myself and the time just flew by. Dog not impressed as he only got to visit the garden tonight. Too tired to tramp around the village in the freezing fog. Just having a quick whizz round the diaries then off to bed. Have agreed to do two short days.
That will help as I haven't even started to pack yet and I am leaving here on Friday morning to head North with Moo before heading South on Saturday. Cant believe it is nearly here. Just had an email from the chalet to confirm all is still ok.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Well, after a prolonged absence from work I am about to start again today. Only two short days but I am dreading turning on my blackberry. My works computer is still not able to link up to the work server so I have to take it into town to an office to link it to the network for the engineer to do his stuff. Really dont feel like going in today so I will be working solely from my berry and transferring stuff to my home computer. Good times.
Christmas presents for OH now all sorted, wrapped and under the tree. Must remember to pack them.
