Thats a heck of a lot of strange dogs in one place if they're given the level of freedom you expect them to have. Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. All you need is one of the girlies to come into season and it would be a nightmare.

Can you lease him out as a stud dog over x-mas. People are forking out up to £1000 a litter at the mo. REALLY (KERCHING?)

Now that would be a plan :) Me being paid to board him and him having some extra fun. HA. Truthfully though I am really not sure that he would know what to do with a !!!!!. He has never bothered with them. I am also perplexed as to how much sniffing he had been doing for it to be a problem. Very odd.

Not even sure how to go about the stud dog thing. Although it might be an option and it is certainly nothing I have ever thought of.

Will have a look into that. thanks Moo2Moo. Oh by the way, I tried that link that you sent me for home boarding up there. Turns out they havent done that for years! Not quite sure why the website is still running then.

Just dropping in - I've been lurking a lot lately but have been reading as much as I can - just been so busy!

What a nuisance re Moo but looks like this board has worked it's magic again and looks like you may be sorted very soon :j

    hi Poles,

Yes I have been lurking more than posting really. So much to do just lately. Quick catch up at tea time and post the odd thing but that is about it.

I keep thinking we are sorted with Moo and then something else happens. Decided today I am focusing on the not getting him somewhere so much that until I start thinking I will get him in somewhere then it isnt going to happen. Mmm. So instead of I have more than enough for my needs my mantra is now going to be. So many people to choose who Moo will stay with its a blessing.

Hi Cherisong - I saw the title of your thread and it called to me :D I cried (yes actually cried although I was about 7 months pregnant at the time) when we sold our gorgeous Land Rover Defender 90. Broke my heart and we're not in a position to have one again due to our little family. I have promised myself that when the kids are older and if we win the lotto we shall buy another brand spanking new LR County Station Wagon although I am unsure whether to plump for a 110 or a 90 again. I'd also be looking to the country estate to go with it ;)

Anyway I wish you luck and success in your plan for a truly fantastic 4x4 and I can heartily recommend getting it grubby off roading :D

Ooooo, thanks Bitsy Beans, lovely name, although I HATE baked beans. My OH says I am weird who couldnt love beans? I do like any other kind of beans, well being a vegetarian it would be difficult not to! sorry I digress.
I completely understand you crying over the landrover. They are rather special and what a great idea to get a stationwagon. You would be just like Kirsty Allsop then, landrover, country estate.

Yes the landrover is my ultimate dream, mind you another dane and perhaps a jack russell would be nice to go with it. Oh and definitely the country pad although I envision more of a wooden chalet running as a B&B in the German Alps myself (hence the holiday)to go with the lifestyle. To this end I have now put up my vision board in the kitchen. It has on it a lovely wooden chalet (winter picture and summer picture because I need the universe to know that I will be there all year round) a couple of great dane pictures alongside photos of Moo and a Jack Russell for good measure. I have drawn a drive and put on a cut out picture of a landrover defender county. I have then written an amount of money at the top. This is the amount of money I need to make the dream come true and it may take me some time but I will get there.

In other matters I have secured lodgings for Moo at Christmas. :j:jHopefully it will work out this time. The strangest thing happened I got a message from my best friends sister to say that she had noticed my facebook page asking if anybody could recommend somewhere and she had just cancelled home boarding for her labradoodle for the exact same dates. I got on to them right away and secured the dates for him. If it is good enough for my friend it is good enough for me.It means that he will be going back to my home town. He will be walked in all of his old haunts and able to meet up with his doggy chums who he hasnt seen for some time. I am so pleased for him - and me. The good thing is that , should anything go awry, I have friends and family near to where he is staying who will be able to deal with any emergencies and keep me informed.

So end of Day 2 Week 2 50 day challenge looks like this

        WEEK2
        [STRIKE]Find a new dogminder[/STRIKE]
start gathering clothes together in one place - bag placed in bedroom and so far have some thermal underwear in there!
book a ski lesson - first one booked
have a ski lesson - sunday
mind map the german words - not looked at this yet

        accomodation paid for
        money required
        ferry £130/2
        Petrol £150/2
        overnight accomodations in transit £60/2
        dog minder - 300 /2
spending money £250 (allow for some skiing)
Total I need to save £570
        saved so far £349.
        £349/570

        Plans for saving
[*]£250 spending money - currently allow £30 per week for food and £20 per week for "incidentals" so this is £150 which will go towards the spending money as I will be away for 3 weeks and this will be used for eating out etc.
[*]I currently allow £30 per week petrol OH spends £50 per week petrol so that gives us £240 towards the petrol, this is probably a more realistic amount. OH is happy to take the brunt of the petrol as he says he wont be spending it going to work.
[*]Ferry, - I will use my expenses towards this. Lots of long distance journeys over the next couple of weeks.
[*]Dog minder - this is the biggie and wil take up most of what I already have saved.
[*]Right I am confuzzled, need to go and have a think.
