Hi Cherisong , I have just been catching up. Glad you are feeling better and making plans. I think we all need time to just be sometimes. I did a lot of thinking while I was ill and your right, when you look at what really matters it's loved ones (pets included), your health and enjoying your life, it passes so quickly. Good luck with the challengeSew it, knit it, glue it, reuse it , don't buy it0

Hi Knitwit, I thought that I hadn't heard from you for a while. I didnt realise you were poorly. I hope that you are feeling much better. So many people I know have "things" going on that it really brings things into focus for me. Hence booking the holiday and having a "worry about it all later attitude" which goes completely against the grain for me.
Update
Found a dry ski slope that does skiing lessons for beginners YIPEE......... £8.50 per hour  Maybe just a couple to get me at least standing will do it.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Excellent progress cherisong! :T :T Love it how much motivation there is round here at the minute :j0

Off to Cardiff today for three days. Moo off on his holidays to Fishguard. Will mean that little is done for the challenge but I might try to track down a TK Maxx in Cardiff to see if there are any bargains on ski gear. My friend has announced that she has some unworn ski gear that I can borrow in return for a long weekend here. Sounds like a win win to me and it is me doing all the winning there.
Right I have to pack Moos bag and sort myself out. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Happy holidays Moo! Good news about the ski gear swap, sounds like you are well on your way to that money neutral holiday. :j0

Happy holidays Cherisong. I learnt to ski on a dry slope for a school holiday. We had a great time. My only words of wisdom are, learn how to stop first, and if you can't just throw yourself on your side. For me it was that or hit a barn :rotfl:. Never was good at sports! Oh and the ski lifts, lets just say it was funny for everyone else but I still have the nightmares . But we did go with a boys school so it did have its highlights
, but for me not on the slopes. I must say my friend loved it and still goes snowboarding 27 years later so it was just me, I'm sure you will love it:D
Sew it, knit it, glue it, reuse it , don't buy it0 -
:rotfl::rotfl:Knitwit, I fully expect to be the same as you. Skiing has never interested me in the least. But hey, you have to try things in life.
Now things did not go as planned with Moo in his holiday home. Whilst he was very well looked after and was a very good boy the owner had a little "issue" with him which was not quite so little for them to feel confident enough to deal with at Christmas. Shame but these things happen. Now he didnt do anything wrong at all, he was just being a little inquisitive with a beagle. He has not been castrated and the beagle was so he just wanted to sniff him a lot. Max is a big wuss and, had the beagle told him off then he would have left him alone. Beagle must have been enjoying it as he didnt warn him off. They felt it was a bit much. As they have 2 dalmations and a spaniel staying with them over Christmas as well as their own two dogs I think that they thought he might be too much if he was inquisitive with them too. Had I realised at the time of booking that they expected to have this many dogs staying as well as their own two all in the house then I probably wouldnt have booked him in anyway so I am pleased that things have worked out this way.
Now on the hunt for plan B!!!!
Any suggestions or recommendations/offers duly welcomed. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Oh dear cherisong! Sounds like it's for the best, but rather frustrating for you. Could they not recommend anyone else to you? I'm afraid I don't have the foggiest idea where to start!
How did the weekend go for you?0 -
Grrrr to having to find a plan B:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0

Thats a heck of a lot of strange dogs in one place if they're given the level of freedom you expect them to have. Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. All you need is one of the girlies to come into season and it would be a nightmare.
Can you lease him out as a stud dog over x-mas. People are forking out up to £1000 a litter at the mo.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
