Ooooo, thanks Bitsy Beans, lovely name, although I HATE baked beans. My OH says I am weird who couldnt love beans? I do like any other kind of beans, well being a vegetarian it would be difficult not to! sorry I digress.
I completely understand you crying over the landrover. They are rather special and what a great idea to get a stationwagon. You would be just like Kirsty Allsop then, landrover, country estate.

Yes the landrover is my ultimate dream, mind you another dane and perhaps a jack russell would be nice to go with it. Oh and definitely the country pad although I envision more of a wooden chalet running as a B&B in the German Alps myself (hence the holiday)to go with the lifestyle. To this end I have now put up my vision board in the kitchen. It has on it a lovely wooden chalet (winter picture and summer picture because I need the universe to know that I will be there all year round) a couple of great dane pictures alongside photos of Moo and a Jack Russell for good measure. I have drawn a drive and put on a cut out picture of a landrover defender county. I have then written an amount of money at the top. This is the amount of money I need to make the dream come true and it may take me some time but I will get there.

I too hate baked beans and my H also thinks I am a freak but clearly we can't both be wrong ;)
My name comes from the rather scary looking doll in my avatar. I had one when I was a baby only they were known as Bitty Beans but my nan always called it/me Bitsy Beans :D

Your vision sounds wonderful, not that have ever gone skiing in my life but I'd definately like to stop by your lovely sounding chalet :D

Love this from your signature Bitsy. Mmm very scary doll :rotfl::rotfl:

I too have never been skiing in my life. I just love the countryside and bright sunshine - thus winter snow gives lovely light.

will hopefully have a go at skiing at Christmas. Plan is to be top of a mountain on Christmas day drinking mulled wine

I'm glad you've found a new Christmas home for Moo. The vision board sounds gorgeous.

I could do with making one I think, we have found out that most of our income is seasonal (just a bit too late :o) and with govt cuts its not looking good for next year. I've got some ideas for me but its DH that needs something he can do from home. Will get my thinking cap on.

Oh Pippa, that is just rubbish. I dont wish to sound sexist here but I do think it is harder for men when things like this happen. Whilst most women I know have a knack of looking at the bigger picture the men that I know that have been faced with this kind of thing find it difficult to think outside the box if they have done the same kind of thing for so long. I really hope that you come up with something. Events planning is a difficult business to be in (am I right that is part of what you do?)

Get that vision board done. I had great fun doing it and I am sat looking at it now whilst eating breakfast and typing on here. Sets me up for the day when I settle at my desk to work as I am focused on that is what I am working towards. I must do something similar to put in front of my desk.

Quote is from metaphysical poet Andrew Marvell entitled To His Coy Mistress. Metaphysical poetry ain't for the faint hearted but that line has always stuck with me. See my A Level English Lit wasn't wasted after all :rotfl:

I have a vision book for weightloss. I googled celebrities with my body shape (apple) and printed off loads of pics of Liz Hurley and Drew Barrymore. I look at the pics for inspiration of what I look like (shan't say should because I need to believe I have this figure already ;)) Definately find it inspiring :D

Love poetry but not really intellectual enough to understand differences. Will definitely go and look him up now. I find myself going back to Rabrindraneth Tragore constantly. Not sure how you would define his poetry. I am beginning to learn (via the connections I am making on here) how shallow I am :) I would love to be intellectual, just dont have the time to put the effort in. If you know what I mean.

You are looking like Liz Hurley and Drew Barrymore. Just remember that part of their job is maintaining their bodies, so whilst the mere mortals amongst us have to add any body maintenance on top of all the other things that we do, they incorporate it into their working day. So whilst you are earning money doing whatever you do they are investing in their "business" at the gym or consulting with their nutritionist (who will meal plan, cook, shop etc for them). So when you look it at like that it then it may just take a bit longer for you to be in the same weight bracket. I dont think though that you should focus on the weight side of it. I think that, as long as you know your shape then you can dress to your strengths. I would love to have wider hips but I dont so I make the most of what I do have and appreciate it. Loving the vision board though. What lovely positive people to have on their. I like both of them as people they are both quite quirky. Mmmm maybe I should put a picture of Kirsty Allsop on my board. Off to cut out some pictures :)

I will have to look out some pics!

Yes, the events are hard but have always been seasonal. We developed that into more this year but with the economy the way it is one has cancelled until next spring, and the other that we desparately want to lose as we feel now may harm our reputation, we may have to try and keep. trouble is they are short of money and not supporting us from their side of the deal. I've got a couple of days to decide whether to kick this negative contract into touch - just wish it wasnt such a lot of money to lose each month.

I wont have as many students either, although I ended up with too many really, so need to find a balance of about 20 regulars that would keep the income ticking over.

Trouble is DH is unwell, mentally he would not cope with a full time job, we'll manage, I've got money due in so will be careful. This time of year our expenses are lower as not our travelling for work as much so will make the best of what we have.

You never know there may be some work to be had as 2 people have left from the company that ran the show relating to the vehicles closest to your heart and we already do work for them - (please universe!)

Poles, me thinks that your hips serve you well with your hobby so I wont steal any from you :)

Pippa, things can be so difficult when it comes to business. Money is important but so is your reputation, I wish you luck on working that one out.
    I was reading Firewalkers diary earlier and she has posted something over there that is quite thought provoking. All about using your talents but more than that, identifying your talents. Take a look it is interesting. Perhaps your husband could do the exercise and work out from there what he could do that he is comfortable with. Also would he be able to do a part time job to build his confidence in something? In amongst all of that you take care of yourself too. Being strong is one thing, making yourself ill by trying to be strong is something completely different. Now my favourite vehicles and you doing some work for them................... sounds interesting;

Thanks for the advice x I am subscribed to Firewalkers diary but couldnt keep up with them all, will have to take time to catch up.

Now the event is one I have never been to although its on my doorstep - they run the largest in the UK for your dream, you would be in your element, they even use a nearby off road track!

DH will get there, he's even come up with a plan on how to deal with this issue of the not wanted company, so we shall see.

My 8 month old puppy has been following me round all day, really fussing. He is getting a really big and I keep falling over him, he hasn't yet learnt that doorways are for walking through, or keeping closed, rather than parking himself in them :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.
