Congratulations!
Ah, the 'typo' excuse. Your keyboard must be laid out poorly if you meant to hit E and hit I by mistake...
Getting back to the OP, I would say a very simple mistake has been made and Asda should be informed about this to stop it happening again. To say you felt "very hard done by given the severity of what happened" makes you seem like some grubby little compensation seeker.0 -

Would it be any different if a diabetic thought they were getting sugar free drink and ended up having a hyperglycemic attack? Maybe extreme but some people choose not to eat meat and have more than a valid cause for complaint if they eat something which is labeled as veggie that contains meat. Some people are told not to eat meat so just like the diabetics its a medical condition, but you think thats ok?
This isnt just finding a bit of plastic in your food or something thats a bit mouldy its going against the morals that someone holds, or in some extreme cases medical advice.
Medical or moral its more than just "try to put your ordeal in perspective with actual injustices and get on with your life" as you put it, I for one would be more than upset if I had spent years of my life not eating meat to be poisoned with it by something thats supposed to be veggie.
It was obvioulsy a mistake but one that needs to be taken seriously and I am sure it will be by the supermarket.
If you specificaly buy something that doesnt contain something and it has it you have a pretty valid reason for being more than a little cheesed off!

None of these things happened though - it was a piece of meat in a pie, by mistake. No one has been injured.
I think a piece of plastic or mould is much more significant - both could cause serious harm to any person. I'm sure that my doctor would give me medical advice to not eat these.0 -

all i cna say is dont tell everyone they will all want a bitReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. Totally agree!!
I bought some hot cross buns a couple of months ago in ASDA and "lo and behold" they contained pieces of chicken. It was clearly freshly cooked chicken (quite nice) and caused no upset. I was actually glad of the opportunity to take the buns back because they did not taste as nice as they looked. So, I reported the chicken to them and got my money back.
There is clearly an issue with ASDA if the cooked chicken is finding its way in to other cooked products; and they need to deal with it.
The o/p claims to have been mortified or traumatized by his experience. No more traumatized than I would be if I found a bone in my fish and chip supper, I can assure him.
It is not pleasing to find ingredients in cooked products that are not supposed to be there but the incident does not merit inclusion into "Foxes Book of Martyrs" as the o/p appears to believe.0 -
I'm surprised that Asda's cheese and onion pasties are vegetarian anyway - I doubt they go out of their way to use vegetarian cheese!0

I once found some meat in a ginsters pasty. Was completely shocked.0
