Crikey! Just booked one 5 minutes ago for this afternoon!

Summer - thank. Will look into that. I am also looking at the v-shaped pillows; as this would support my neck and shoulders.

the v shaped might be ok for watching tv on the sofa but as for bed i used to use one but the v kind of split a bit so might not be as supportive for bed,

something else you might want to try if heat or cold helps, if you go in asda they sell the heat pack that you can mirowave there 4 quid but have the balls inside so you can shape them to how you like it , will try and rember the name of the other pillows you were going on about before

I love my V pillow, had it for quite some years now, originally for breast feeding (now bearing in mind youngest is 12 and I had it for my middle son, it really is old!) but now doing duty as my normal support pillow in bed.

I wouldn't be without it and it even comes away on holiday with me.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

The Rheumi app was just as I expected, we ended up talking about his painful shoulder and the only advice I got was to try Yoga  To be fair I have been seeing him every 6 months for 15 years and he has tried to help me many times, with no success, so I think he's probably given up on me now. Oh well, back in January.

What a wonderful nights' sleep I had last night! :) Took the naproxen just before bed; which helped a lot. As did the memory foam pillow.

Glad to hear it! I have a memory foam mattress topper, and my sleep has been much less disturbed since I got it. (Another thing I used DLA for - and you can get a single one at B&M for £25. :))

Hello everyone. I keep reading the thread I'm just not posting at the moment as I am still struggling to come to terms with everything. I never thought I would need a disability board (Sorry that wasn't meant to offend:o)

How do people cope with being suddenly disabled. Is it just me being a drama queen and I need to get over it or is it normal.

It takes time NH. lots of time. IMO it's a gradual process and somewhat of a grieving process, so don't distress yourself unduly.

I've been unable to work for coming up to 4 years now, and it hit me hard not being able to support myself or "be successful" or whatnot...then I had to get used to not being able to be a control freak about my environment (housework is far too taxing these days, esp when some days I don't even have what it takes to fix a sandwich), then I had to get used to my weight/size issues (with not being capable of preparing healthy meals or getting the required exercise), then I got wed and had to get used to the idea that the financial burden for the household was on someone else and I could do little to help (I was *fiercely* independant before)

...so, like I say, gradual process. It gets easier, mostly because you get used to it, but there are still times where I want to have a toddler-style strop with "it's not fair!!" tantrums ;)

    Good luck with your journey.

And  to everyone else too :D

Oh, and now I want a chicken kebab ;)
