I'm trying to find the middle ground at the moment and am going between hardly able to move to moving with not too many problems...unfortunately, the moving without pain days are outnumbered by the moving with pain days.

The stick has had a lot of use this last week or so, in fact it was a godsend just today, in Asda doing some shopping and eldest had beggered off to another check out leaving me to get the food out of the trolley onto the conveyor belt and mid reach to get an item out and bang, my back went, followed very quickly by my legs not wanting to work and when they did, very painfully. So it was a very slow and painful hobble back to the car (in non disabled parking and what seemed like miles from the door but in reality, no distance at all) with the aid of the stick.

Think something has happened with my feet too, years ago when I was at primary school, a bone had been growing weird in my right foot...it all cleared up with rest and I had no problems for years, until now. Both feet feel bruised on the bony outside of the foot and that is just when I am laying in bed or sitting and cross my feet, walking on them can be quite painful.

My physio is going to love me when I go back and asks how things have been...think I am in for a telling off again!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Thank you all so much for your lovely words and understanding, it does make me feel better knowing there are other people out there who know what it feels like.

Everything is a struggle but I will try to do little things each day like was said.

Lamewolf when you said about finding different ways of doing things I may have taken it a bit literally:o I decided to peel some potatoes (Hard with only 1 properly working arm but needed to try) and found myself trying to do it with the phone:o Or maybe that come under daft things:rotfl:

I will try and post more here you seem a very kind supportive lot.

Evenin' ladies and gentlemen. What a magnificent day.

Have been kicked off the physio waiting list after 9 months, because they allegedly sent me a third letter asking if I had spontaneously got better without their help. Refused to give me details of the complaints procedure.

And 'phoned to check Rheumatology appointment (was supposed to be for 4 weeks, which would have been February, so I ended up with one for today; but I'm suspicious of them and always call to check if it's been moved). It had been cancelled with NO LETTER. The new appointment? November. So no steroid pulse (which is supposed to be every 10 weeks :rotfl: nearer 18 monthly :rotfl:) again.

Not bad considering I was supposed to start methotrexate injections about 3 years ago and they never start because in that time, all but one appointment has been cancelled and rebooked for at least 6 months later repeatedly, so I never actually get to see her.

    [excuse me for what follows]

    $(&%!@(&!@&%!(@&T(!&@)%&!)*$@£&%)*!@$&%*)!@&$%)(!&$%)&!@$()%&!()@$&%T(!£&$*!$*)£%)!*$%)(!&@
    $%&($%&!$(!@&%!&@$)(%&!)$&%!$&*)!$&!$(%!($*%(!*$(!(@$&(@&(&%(&(
    !@$(%&!(@&$%(!@&$(&%!(@$&%(!&$(!&@$(&!_(@$&(!$&%!_($&%_(!&$%(_&

So, I have a week long course on a campus that looks like the North Face of the Eiger. No steroids. No painkillers (as the GP practice has a moral objection to prescribing pain relief that doesn't make me chuck up and I have to notify them a month in advance if I feel like being unwell). No physio. The chemist won't serve me because I won't buy overpriced paracetamol containing products, saying I have to see my GP. That and the fact that anyone who can tell a chemist that they want the generic of any drug, quoting the proper name and is aware of the fact that it is approved for OTC sales as per the BNF is displaying drug seeking behaviour, apparently.

So, I might manage to pack my coursework and a couple of items of clothing. But I will mostly be carrying from the train station:

    CPAP machine
    Surgical tape
    Crepe bandages
    Splinted gloves
    Stick
    Wonky Welly leg brace
    Scarves for neck/emergency sling
    Hats
    Sunglasses

I can't take the chance with footwear/difficult clothes, it will have to be DMs, jeans and T Shirts.

So I will be making my way onto campus looking like a cross between Ian Dury and Robocop.

    @$)%)@(%!)@($% !@$)%@!)$%(!@)($%)£($ !@$%)!@)%(!)$(%

And I've had to make the old phone calls once more.

So I am now in the joyful position of going back to having the full Ian to deal with things. Yup, that's right, thanks to the newcon NHS, this is my future again.

    Oh frabjous day.

    ****

I need my anger. It's the rage that makes me get up, hold a steaming cuppa in my hands to warm them up, cursing 'work, you B&£^ards'. And what makes me play bass far too fast and loud.

Rage is my power supply, if that gets cut off, I'm lost.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Sorry to hear that, Jojo. :( I hope you get something sorted out.

As mentioned before, I'm on Naproxen. I woke up this morning with unexplained bruises on my hand and have a rather poorly stomach for most of today. :(

I'm still just on ibuprofen, the physio keeps asking me what painkillers I take but never suggests anything else and I feel such a wooss asking my GP who would probably just tell me to lose a bit of weight anyway.

So I stick with ibuprofen...not that it really does much anymore.

Ideally yes but I am allergic to paracetamol so can't.
