I've been sleeping in my old bed for a few days, and have realised the mattress is so much better for my back. The pain is so much better now. This means I somehow have to drag 2 mattresses through the house to swap them, as I can't keep sleeping here when my daddy is back from holiday. But he also can't know, as then I'll get a lecture about something.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

Hi Black paw, long time no see.
Just don't get me started on PALS, in the past I had a lot of dealings with them professionally and found them great, this time..well, this is not the lace to have a rant but arghhhh.

Hi all, how are you today?
Jennihen! How are you after all this time? I'm pleased for you that you have moved and hopefully beginning to settle in!! DON'T overdo it - take your time to get things in place as you are probably absolutely exhausted after the move.
I'm still waiting for a buyer for the house before I can think of making a move to be near family! The bungalow I was hoping to move to has been sold! So disappointed.
soolin, hope you are ok and not having to stay at the hospital all hours. What is the situation now with your Dad?
BCS, I understand that D day is today, although I'm sorry ... I don't know (even looking through a few pages here I haven't worked it out) what decision you are waiting for, I hope things work out for you whatever it is.
Jojo, hope your move goes well when it happens! Is it soon?
Hi blackpaw, how are things with you these days?
Oh Bigzippy, I'm the same - read through a few pages here and I too can't remember what I've read!! Just hope I haven't got anyone mixed up or put my foot in it!:o
Hello to everyone else.;)0 -
Hello to everyone....
Been struggling this past week with a horrendous cold (thanks boys!) which has left me with a horrible cough, enough of a cough to force me up to the doctors...a rare occurance.
Thankfully it is not anything too nasty but it made me laugh when he asked if I was keeping up with taking my puffers..what puffers? Last year I was told I didn't have asthma anymore (after having it for 20 years) yet this year, two different doctors and the asthma nurse (when she was seeing youngest for his check) have told me off for not taking care of my asthma...confused? I am!
It was only background asthma anyway for the most part although it was full blown asthma in my 20's to early 30's after a bout of severe pneumonia at 23..the rest of the time, it is brought out by my allergies...or during colds. So goodness knows if I still have it or don't, two doctors and the nurse say yes but another doctor says no.
On the asthma front, I am currently breathing a sigh of relief, youngest has had his first winter cold and has come through it ok...his peak flows did drop a tad and there was one day when I thought a trip to the paeds unit may be on the cards but he picked up just in time to avert it. It has left him weakened and tired and it is just fingers crossed it takes a while before he comes down with another cold otherwise it will be a trip to the hospital...last year was November for the first winter admittance, the year before was October so early days yet.
Hope everyone else is fine.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Singlesue, how could I forget you! You've really been going through it with your sons as well as dealing with your own health!
Didn't you have some bad news recently about your back ... or am I mixing you up with someone else? Also struggling with getting around with a crutch - I can sympathise as I can't get around at all without one!
I sometimes have problems with Asthma - with one telling me just take it when I need to and another telling me off for not taking the pumps regularly as otherwise I won't keep it under control!!0 -
soolin, hope you are ok and not having to stay at the hospital all hours. What is the situation now with your Dad?
.;)
Dad's back in the dementia home, he has apparently proposed to three members of staff already this week, so I suspect he is relieved to be back.
Not heard a dicky bird from either of ths hospitals he was in, despite being told that I would be contacted to arrnge a follow up appointment at both. Still, I am actually not unhappy to leave it as it is as it is much less stressful for dad.
my OH is now ill, and won't go to the doctor as last time he went they were really rude to him.
Oh yes, and my boiler has now completely died and cannot be repaired. Oh joy.
Still , reading some of the other threads on here I am luckier than most so I shouldn't really grumble.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
