Homemade yup, can't stand tins or packets ewwww! well should admit was a pack of ready prepared copped soup veg as hadn't the energy to stand and chop up after a trip to the shops. Taking a bit of getting used to, this trading off activities - if I do this I can't do that so which is more important today etc.

Need to go out today and print some stuff at the Library but having trouble encouraging myself to go and get ready never mind get out of the flat! Maybe I should bribe myself with a trip to the chocolate shop on the way back? lol

I really have to get that last piece of music from A Good Man Goes To War. Makes me shiver and all my hair stand on end - and when the hair on your head is waist-length that's a neat trick!Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -
Hey,
I have just skim read this thread, and thought I would say hello. I know how people feel on the trading off activities, as I have hashimotos disease, which contary to what the nhs say, is not cured by taking thyroxine.
So any ideas people have for meals that are tasty, yet dont require loads of prep, I would love to hear themI love cooking, but now the winter is setting in, the cold makes me ache all over, and I want to give up doing anything that isn't being curled up in bed, lol.

Wow, it's been a long time since I've been on this thread! Time seems to be passing me by very quickly lately.
I have a big day tomorrow, I have a stall at an event to sell my jewellery. Eeeep! My dad and his girlfriend are coming to help me, as it's an all day thing so I'll need at least one nap in the car and help with setting up etc .. I am just hoping beyond hope that it's a success *fingers crossed*
I hope everyone is doing alright0 -
Hello everyone,
Doing fine here! Re tasty meals with little prep., I am a big fan of Campbell's Soup used as a pasta sauce, either just poured over drained pasta and reheated briefly or used in a pasta bake with added cheese, smoked sausage, tuna etc.
I always do my jacket potatoes in the micro, I often then rough -cut them into slices and sprinkle with oil and spicy salt for rustic chips. This is a good way of cooking potatoes when you just CBA or haven't got the spoons. A pile of these chips with some roast chicken joints - yummy!Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Ladystrange - do you have a slow cooker,I find mine indispensible at the best of times and even more so now as it means I can just throw things in it and leave it, no needing to worry about it boiling over or burning and not getting there in time, no need to worry if I fuzz out on my tablets and fall asleep etc Am considering getting a combo microwave oven when I can afford it -!!!!- as finding bending down to the oven impossible and burnt my hand doing it this week.
Other than that I am making the most of my better days and cooking double to freeze up for the days I can barely move about, also means that my boyfriend doesn't have to come home from hard day at work and cook on top of all the other things he has to do now housework wise.
Have had too much coffee, too much sugar in the form of cakes today coupled with my tablets I feel ultra weird...Trying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!

Argos had some very cheap microwave/grill/convection ovens reasontly, I got one when our last one broke (we have had the new one less than 2 weeks) and it was £40.
I swear by them as you can cook things quickly by using the diffrent combinations without everything coming out just steamed by just normal microwaves and the timer makes just grilling easier for me.0 -
I did a fun run today to raise money for Mencap. I'm ridiculously proud of myself, even though I was beaten by 970 others - and most were children under 10.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

I always forget about using the slow cooker, even though it lives on the side lol. Will deffo be getting more stuff to cook in it, I used to always make soups, but can also make some yummy Thai things now, as my partners step mum taught me. So will make my other half and dss some coconut chicken in the week in the slow cooker0

Good for you! Children under 10 come super-equipped with energy anyway, they expend far less shifting their weight from A to B. I bet you sleep well tonight, hope you wake refreshed and pay no physical penalties for today's excursions..
As well as slow cookers, huge pans of broth bubbling away on the stove are great time and energy savers as we move into cooler days. Ham hocks will be re-appearing at my local butchers soon. Last year I bought a massive stockpot in Wilkinson's sale and it will be getting another outing when they do.
