just one word for me right now: PAIN.

just slipped in my hallway and went starfish. I dislocated - fully and partly - a total of 17 joints. yes, seventeen. some of them are STILL not back in right, and GODS but I'm hurting, even after an extra dose of morphine. all four limbs went separate ways. I had to have my houseguest's help to get back up and into my bed and take more meds. and this is why I need night-time care, because stuff like this happens. oh, PAIN :(:(:(

    I'm now happy :)

We have building work going on at work, and last night they painted lots. So this morning it was still wet, and someone I hate decided to put my Radley bag up against that wall  I'd put it safe but they moved it. So I asked my Daddy, who told me to find out what kind of paint it was, and then managed to get it off :D So now I no longer have paint on my Radley.

But I do have an ear infection, which is very painful, but I'm sure not as painful as 17 dislocaions

    thanks <3

still hurting like mad. some things have worked their way back in over the course of the day, though I've been in bed for most of it - really did a number on my back, quite apart from all the rest! *sigh* these things do happen. I just wish not so spectacularly...!

This may sound odd but please I'd welcome your thoughts. Been feeling increasing rough over last few weeks after finally admitting I wasn't coping at work (part-time) so went off sick. Have had regular contact with medics but just keep sinking in my coping in so many areas. At the start of time off a shop to get a few items wasn't too bad although had to rest for rest of day and now can do almost nothing. I really hate this slow decline game where you feel so alone. I'm actually almost hoping to be admitted when I go for my appt. Does that sound strange to you? I normally hate going in. I normally make my own way to appts and generally am fiercely independant but now I simply cant do it and feel bad about and a bit scared. Is this just me or do those of you with chronic illness get the same. Sorry for the moan.

Ouch Tralia that sounds horrid. 1 joint of of place is horrific 17 I cannot comprehend how bad that must feel.

Sheeps just my twopennyworth, but it sounds to me like your body is telling you it needs a time-out, and you need to let others help you for a bit.

I'm like you with the independence bit - I'd sooner gnaw off my own leg than go into the hossy; and it galls me to even have to ask DH to do things for me.

Sometimes though, the body says "Enough. Time-out.... NOW!"

Listen to your body; it's talking sense. I hope you come through this rough patch quickly, and feel better soon.

I haven't been here for a long time.

    Have you seen this? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-13692903
I do see the 'challenge' raised by the GP but I think more choice of GP would be great. I'm keeping my eye on it till next April.

    Hi everyone :)

I'd love to join in, I'm in real need of moral support at the moment.

    a little about me:
I am a soon to be 25 year old civil engineering undergrad. I've not been able to finish uni and am really trying hard to finish my last year after a 3 yr break. It's not looking too likely at the moment though :-(

I've got sticklers syndrome and as a result developed spinal problems and sciatica over a yr ago.

I am using two crutches but as I can't walk beyond about 8 meters I can't go shopping or do any of the things I used to do. Something as simple as going to open the front door tires me out. I did claim DLA when I got bad last year but only got lower rate care. I am being re processed for mobility since I got really bad. 4 more weeks to go for a decision. Hopefully I will get some extra help, fingers crossed. I am really looking forward to leaving the house more often :D

Can anyone with mobility problems offer some guidance please?
