Crochet!!!
[googles as instructed]
Actually - that looks possible as well....
[thinks 'one knitted throw, one crocheted throw - that should keep me busy...]I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Jo jo - give the knitting a go. I have and its very theraputic. Haven't done any knitting since 1970-something and had to re-train the brain how to do it..........lol I started off with wrist warmers........nice and easy, then went on to do a scarf and just finished a hat to make the full set -giving it so sons girlfriend for christmas.
Next is a baby blanket for foster daughters baby due in october.
I'm so limited to what I can do and it has to be a 'sitting down'' activity. I try to vary it and do water colours, make cards, little bits of sewing from odd scraps and now I can add knitting to the list.
Still debating on whether to have the little mobility scooter thats been offered. Its one of the small ones and needs a basket and something to hold my walking sticks. Don't know what to do. OH thinks I won't use it enough. Must admit at the minute I don't like to leave the house unless someone is with me so when cleaner takes me to the supermarket once a week I feel ''safe'' as she's there. Not sure how I'd be on my own. Not being outside for some months I thought I'd turn into a recluse or someone who was just frightened to go out. I know I must do it but not sure the times right at the minute. Lack of confidence I think.
Hope you all enjoy the weekend:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Two hours hard labour in the garden today. Gods, but I'm going to know about it tomorrow!:D
Thread seems to have moved fairly fast today, and me poor little brain isn't up to retaining all the info, so can I just wish everyone as healthy and happy an evening as they can have?:o
*Curls up in basket in corner* Zzzzzzzzz.....If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Good luck with the wool crafts! My local charity shop always has wool and needles so it is definitely worth asking. You might also try your local freegle group as well.
I'm not having a good day here. The thunderstorm appears to have done something nasty to the main aerial and apart from the one TV that runs from the sky box all the other TVs are dead. My car has a warning light on and doing a Google search suggests it is a serious one and people are quoting around £400 of work to get the engine sorted out and I saw my GP this morning and he thinks I have something serious going on with the cervical discs in my neck and is sending me for an urgent MRI.
I can't even open something alcoholic to drink as my OH and son are at a football match and need picking up from the station later as of course half the train lines have been shut down for maintenance.

Ouch, soolin! *hugs carefully*
I'm in a lousy mood today. Had a huge blow-out with a friend - I've been tired of dealing with her temper for months and today she had a go at me for asking her not to spoil me (after having publicly posted that two characters I thought were dead in one of my TV shows were alive, I hadn't seen the latest episode at that point) - and was really just so nasty about it I blocked her. I've just had enough. Her and one other, this week, I am generally tired of people and their b.s...
Also, favourite EDS T-shirt spotted today: "It's genetic. Next question?"Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -

I had issues with someone once and a different person told me to google the concept of 'toxic friends'. Worth reading around that subject. Sometimes I think it is worth standing back and looking at why we continue to try and work at friendships that cause us more harm than good.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Oh, yes. When I told her I was sick of her temper she decided to accuse me of being a "one-woman crusade"... and standing up for other people when they need it is a bad thing how exactly?Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -
People like that just aren't worth it, especially when they are taking up precious spoons.0

Interesting cos I think I might have a few......Like yesterday I phoned two for support mid huge row with Ma and they blasted me for phoning again when they have a business to run (I only phone normally about once or twice a day for a few minutes and some of their other 'non business' calls go on for half an hour!!!). These are strict die hard old fashioned baptists. Nothing against baptists per say but when they won't even get voice mail on their landlines and hate the internet cos 'it's full of lies' it gets a bit much. If their friends get tired it's not the change in seasons but 'the govt poisoning the atmosphere' and then if they wrong me I never get an apology ('men don't apologise') but I have to apologise for saying boo or even challenging them. Considering their supposed to be some sort of pastors their telephone listening skills are zero and amount to a plethora of unsolicited advice. I even got told to get turps on tues to get the chocolate paint off my hands when I'd been decorating since Saturday and if I didn't know how to get paint off by then I should be in residential care.... (it actually washed off)...this is just one example of many I could give you about their attitudes. No point in trying to change them when they're in their 80's...
And am sure Ma is a toxic relationship but not able to call it quits right now though would love to... she just drains and emotionally abuses me. So self centred it's unreal. It's all about her and her life and how I affect her life and if I don't benefit her in some way I might as well not exist....simple...meeting up is a nightmare what with her having hysterics over least little thing. Exhausting.....I never get my needs met when we meet up. It's all about her and I have to cover every scenario 100% full proof it - otherwise I get hurt. If she were a toddler at least I could put her in a playpen and move to another room. Alas I don't have that luxury.:(
Sorry to rant...this thread moves slow compared to Frugal living beginning of the year....:A

*yawns, stretches and carefully folds up blanket*
Sounds to me like Soolin, Trialia and Erme could all use a gentle (((HUG))).
I can't be doing with toxic people - too draining, and I have better things to use up my spoons on!;)
We've been washing doormats this morning - luckily they're the sort you can just chuck in the machine. I'm hoping they dry before next door light their BBQ again. They had it going Friday and yesterday, and I couldn't make up my mind if they were cooking old trainers, rubber tyres, or cowpats!_pale_:rotfl:
Mr LW has the delightful task of having the deep-fat fryer in pieces and cleaning it within an inch of its life - well, why have a dog and bark yourself??:rotfl::rotfl:
Got to go - I'm meant to be checking online if there's anything happening around here for Beltane, not weebling around on MSE.:rotfl:
