I'm waiting for the results of a second blood test to confirm hypothyroidism and have already been told at the hospital by a consultant for something else that I should be on thyroxine. (the GP never noticed the blood test result in the first place).
What it is like taking it?
ETA: hope your Dad's better soonI could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

It's easy. They're teensy tablets. I now have 2 tablets (50mcg and 25mg - does anyone else take 75mcg and if so can you get one tablet for it?) and I can do em both together - actually I can do all 4 of my nightly tablets together! As long as I remember to take them then my life is so much better. Recently I've been sleeping far too much: I went to bed around 6 last night and didn't get up until 8am but when it kicks in it will be better. Some people apparently get bad side effects from it, but mine have all been good. Are good things still called side effeccts?Jojo_the_Tightfisted wrote: »I'm waiting for the results of a second blood test to confirm hypothyroidism and have already been told at the hospital by a consultant for something else that I should be on thyroxine. If you are hypothyroid then it's extreme moneysaving as you're eligible for a medical exemption for free prescriptions!
My dad has a hiatus hernia and it's playing up at the moment. He needs an operation soon but I don't know when.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

#1242 - Jojo the Tightfisted
- someone has to read / [ wade through ] it
- employees the world over, even if the are part of the ATOS !!!!!, are emotional [ and lazy ] individuals
- succinct and to the point one line reductions make their job easier, making their day makes them more disposed to help you
- making their job easier whilst still forcefully scoring your point is more likely to make them ' count ' [ their tick list ] in your favour
You can attach in academic report writing style, a single typewritten sheet for each pertain [ing ] sub answer providing it's clearly marked / dated / signed each time and never need to use a Biro other than for the signatures. You can get about 4 badly hand written A4 sides correctly correctly spelled, fully pruned to be succinct, grammar corrected on one side of A4 printout.
- - - you don't have to to try to fit your answer into their little box ! - use a separate sheet and sign / date it
I hope it works out for you

I find it helps a bit, but then other people seem to find it doesn't. It is much easier to gain weight than lose it thoughJojo_the_Tightfisted wrote: »If they include weight loss, then they're called about blo0dy time I had a result!

I reckon so. One of the side-effects of morphine has greatly helped another very unpleasant problem I have, that I'm far too embarrassed to mention to the doctor. Are good things still called side effeccts?
Now that's what I call a result!:D
Wishing everyone a pleasant and pain-free day.:beer:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I feel so sick. Interview in less than 6 hours. Although not diagnosed, there is now no doubt in my mind whether I have stress related IBS, today has totally proved that I do. I'll save the gory details, but it's just another thing I didn't need on top of an already stressful day.
Heyho, I guess it will be worth it.
I hope everyone is doing well.0 -
