I have reported Noggin the Nog -only 14 posts and he/she has offered nothing of any help or assistance to anyone - denigrating someones right to comment in an extremely nasty way.

I visited the store and ordered online......People have a myriad of resons for not visiting the store, who is to say that they are not valid?0

Quite right-this was clumsy. To say get out more could insult those who are incapacitated.Would you prepared to speak like this without the anonymity offered by the web?
I missed out but why moan? After all you can get a similar experience with a good sparkling white wine.
Well, I didn't, but people are entirely entitled to air their grievances about poor customer service and being told a range of different stories from Asda. This champagne was for sale in store with roll-back signs at this price, if you could find it.
If people chose to order online, at the same price, many ordering in time to effectively receive orders the next day that was better than not being able to find it at all. Thereafter some people reported being delivered the champagne, some receiving substitutions of champagne whilst others received no champagne, no order, waiting in all day with no notification their order wasn't turning up, were told a range of fictitious stories ranging from Asda being unable to sell at this price legally etc etc.
So, people's issue was not that there was a genuine issue with supply (however this wasn't actually necessarily the case), but the wildly different standards and stories applied thereafter, plus in some instances the customer service received. Reading the posts back, no-one said anything inappropriate but merely relayed their experiences which surely they are entitled to do, and people do so on most threads. However, a couple of people came along thereafter telling people what their experience should have been and what they should have done. I don't agree with that and feel it was unnecessary, however no real problem until someone makes personal comment about people.0 -
This champagne is back online at £14. I'm not sure the original price should ever have been £24.97 but when I went instore and got mine the SEL had "new" written on it as if it were new stock but showed the full price although it was scanning at £4.97. On Tuesday it scanned at £24.97.0

I have had 3 (unsolicited) calls from Asda about this, they know they are in the wrong, they keep saying that I had not selected subs, which I definitely had and have the confirmation to prove that is correct. As my account always has subs it is highly suspect to ne that on this occasion the subs have mysteriously disappeared from their system, yet is on my confirmation. I even offered to go down to the store with the email....only to be told even that would not overide what was on their system. They are trying to get out of the subs policy because it is too costly for them, and trying to pretend to customers that is not what they are doing.
I am still awaiting an email response from HO.......0 -
Hi twinklyeys
My comment was an honest opinion and trying to help people in future as these glitches happen all the time! And the post was thanked by people with it appears to be above average intelligence!
Thought your comment was " quite rude" to be honest!! you really need to get a life?" and really ignorant! because if you had taken the time? to read my post correctly! i did apologise to people who could not make it in person to store! my point was I did take the time and effort to actually go look for this deal. I did not whine and complain about it being oos or being substituted! my point was if you want something then at all costs go and get it! do not sit at home waiting. So there are no local stores, no car? no bus service? no trains? no taxis? not even the abilty to WALK to store? for I assume it you were not successful? WHY?
My thanks again to OP :Tand well done to all who took the time and effort "unlike some!!!" to really get the best benefits from this!!!
Out of curiosity I checked the distance to my nearest Asda stores.
I have 2 and they are both seven (7) miles away.
Would you consider that walkable?
If I did walk there, what were the chances there would be stock on the shelves?
If there was stock, I would have a seven mile walk home carrying said champagne.
No buses by the way, nor trains, although I probably could have booked a taxi.
If I had, paid for a return trip - say £20, and no stock on shelf how money saving is that ?
If I had phoned to check stock, what would be the chances of getting an "honest" reply from CS?
Even if they admitted to having stock, what would be the chances of it still being there by the time I had walked 7 miles, or booked a taxi?
What are the chances that CS having their attention drawn to this great deal would have managed to clear the shelves for themselves?
You comment about people not "making the time and effort".....but clearly many have spent hours if not days waiting for promised delivery and phone calls.
You now claim your comments were "to help people in future".
IF so, you could simply have advised readers to not wait 2 to 3 days for a delivery, but to try and get into the store asap.
But you also added comments such as "ordinary people who don't sit all day in front of a computer! " had managed to get the deal in store.
"Easier to click for chance of delivery or a little bit effort to go to store to see what is on shelves."
and "you really need to get a life?"
You also add "In my opinion there is no point blaming asda for oos when delivered as the shelves would already have been picked clean by then!"
I have flicked through the last few pages, and I cannot seem to see any complaints about it being genuinely oos.
But there are lots of posts about
1) The order being cancelled after it should have been delivered
2) No champagne or alternative being delivered.
3) Waiting in for hours/days for phone calls from CS
4) Being spoken to rudely by CS
5) Being given lots of differing reasons why they would not be receiving their champagne, eg lowest legal price etc..... NOT that it was oos
By the by, I do not do on-line food shopping with ANY store.
I did not try to order on-line.
I did get up and visited both of my two local stores - but unlike your stores where "there were bottles sitting on shelves in their local Asdas getting picked at £4:95 by ordinary people who don't sit all day in front of a computer!" there was no champagne.
Am I complaining - NO,
Am I hurling insults - NO
Do I pass comments about other peoples ability to 'mobilise' themselves, or their intellectual capacity - NO.
Hasbeen, You got your 6 bottles of cheap champagne... congratulations.
Clearly many others did not.
If they want to let off a little frustration about the bad way Asda handled this issue, why shouldn't they ?
You have your champagne, if you don't want to read posts from people who need to "get a life" why are you still reading this thread?
Your comments were rude and uncalled for.
If you were not already aware of that, take this as a gentle motherly hint - you are being rude.0 -

The post seems to have been deleted now. So hopefully we can all get back to being happy campers and searching for bargains, champagne or no. I emailed Asda to enquire about the substitution policy and the differing service standards but think it is pretty much a lost cause, not to worry though, onwards and upwards.
Some companies just seem to be much better in dealing with customers and issues that others. M & S have been really good with me in the past, and I read on the forum yesterday that O2, who seemed to be unable to supply an item people had ordered, were refunding double the price for the inconvenience! Looks like Asda maybe just aren't one of those companies who are hot on customer service, in this instance certainly.0 -
scanning at £14 in wigan0

Here is my experience
I ordered 12 bottles to get free delivery. They cancelled my order at 2pm however didn't inform me so waited in for the 2 hour slot. I rang the 0844 number to be told i should contact my local store to ask why it was cancelled. Spoke to my store unfortunately the manager wasn't available so was promised a phone call, however that failed to happen. Eventually spoke to manager 3 days later and was told that the item was mispriced and due to the difference in price being too much they can’t offer an alternative. The manager had the cheek to say at the end of the conversation I’m glad the problem is sorted

l won't quote your comments, Nogin, but you might want to edit your above post. It is extremely rude and offensive to twinklyeys and against the terms and conditions of use of the site. I don't agree with your points either, although that is immaterial, but you should refrain from making things personal and insulting people (even in the early hours).
Hi a bit confused here who is Noggin? re above post
Ok just read rest of posts, to find noggins post against twinklyeys was deleted? Appologies to Twinklyeys as it appears my comments kicked someone else of. Also to anyone who took offence at my comments!
