so that would have meant they would have to have been sold overnight which you aren't allowed to do. Hmm. Probably nothing it in, just thinking on it seems a bit odd too.

Yesterday was Sunday - they would have been closed overnight!

My delivery has not appeared - no phone call either....have been on hold to Asda for 10 minutes now listening to an automated message and digital music...

Yep, Sunday. The store closes for two or three hours at night on weekend nights, otherwise 24 hours. Essentially, given the timings, they would have had to have sold them all in the last hour or so before they had to stop selling alcohol for the night. It was possible, but if they were scanning at the full price as the lady advised, it does seem unlikely at best, eh.

Thank you for posting this offer :T.

On Sunday I rang my local store but they quoted the full price £24.97. Today I went to Castlepoint, found a bottle and asked one of the supervisors to check the price and she quoted £4.97. I bought several and left a few for the rest of you, so hope someone from the Bournemouth area is lucky with what I left on the shelf.

    Pj

Ps. I did buy some other shopping so although ASDA might have a slight loss on the Champagne they will make a profit on the other items.

Well, have just finished speaking to the call centre in South Africa! My order has been cancelled and I was telephoned 14 minutes before the END of my 2 hour delivery slot to tell me. Don't get a good mobile signal in the house so missed the call. Reason given no stock, no suitable substitute, thanked me for choosing Asda and have a lovely day??!! I wasted 2 hours of it waiting for an order that didn't arrive.

Would have been nice to get the bargain but it was always doubtful that it would work out. My first order with them - not a good experience customer service wise so will probably also be my last.

Not sure where you are but my store only opens 11 to 5 on Sundays and reopens at 7am Monday morning so is closed for 14 hours overnight on Sundays.

I am so pleased for all that received theirs but am really angry that for some reason my store felt within their right to not sell me it at that price, saying the were not allowed to, even although it was clearly showing at that price!
It is now in the hands of a manager but I do not hold out much hope as they will all be sold out by now. My delivery was supposed to be first thing this morning!

I called in the Holt Park store on Saturday and the SEL stated £4.97!! in store!! They were oos though.

I have ordered over the internet, so fingers crossed. Also I feel happy to ask for a substitute of a similar quality, as I now know it was an internet misprice, but a reduced price!!
ACII and Chartered so now I can focus on learning to play my beautiful Sax. 🎷

I am sorry you did not get your Champagne either. This was my first order too, I have never been spoken to so rudely as I was today by a superviser in the customer service office in South Africa.........not impressed at all with ASDA customer service.

  • I too have just recieved a phone call from the call centre in South Africa, asking if I was happy with the substitute as the champagne was out of stock.

I asked why he was calling at 9.50pm?

It was my first order with Asda, do they normally call you about your order hours after and at this time of night.

Not happy and will not be shopping with them again!
