Sorry to all that did not get this deal! but I am surprised at the amount of people whose first thought was to order online? Why?? when there were bottles sitting on shelves in their local Asdas getting picked at £4:95 by ordinary people who don't sit all day in front of a computer! ( I do!! but I get out sometimes!) Who probably never heard of grabbit etc. My local asda had lots on the shelf but they were going fast!!
Is this a sign of our times? Easier to click for chance of delivery or a little bit effort to go to store to see what is on shelves. If its the case some could not get to store then I apologise, but it seems to me the majority thought they could get this deal by ordering and then waiting 2-3 days?? In my opinion there is no point blaming asda for oos when delivered as the shelves would already have been picked clean by then!

Surprised also by the moaning! It's a glitch, we all know it. And rule number one is: some you win, some you lose.

Well done to those who managed to bag some dirt-cheap champers. Let's look forward to the next one!

This reply is quite rude! Some people have countless reasons that they were unable to get to the store, one being they do not have the luxury of a car to be able to travel the distance to the nearest Asda, count yourself lucky that you have the luxury of either having an Asda near enough that you can walk or have a car that you can drive to it!!!!!! I think it would be best to be more considerate of others feelings before posting such remarks!
Some people were actually refused sale, it was not that it was out of stock!
Why the above post was thanked really makes me wonder!

The moan is more regarding the way that Asda's customer service deal with things. There should not be one rule for one and another for someone else!

Agree that you win some you lose some. My moans are about Asda customer service and the fact that I sat in all day having been told my order was on its way. Also crap that everyone is being dealt with differently.

agreed, I sat in Monday evening waiting for a delivery and was phoned 15 minutes before the end of the delivery slot to say it was cancelled. Customer service couldn't tell me why I was told so late or why no substitutes were sent. But promised I would get a call Tuesday with an explanation. Guess what? The phone never rang!

    Hi twinklyeys
My comment was an honest opinion and trying to help people in future as these glitches happen all the time! And the post was thanked by people with it appears to be above average intelligence!
Thought your comment was " quite rude" to be honest!! you really need to get a life?" and really ignorant! because if you had taken the time? to read my post correctly! i did apologise to people who could not make it in person to store! my point was I did take the time and effort to actually go look for this deal. I did not whine and complain about it being oos or being substituted! my point was if you want something then at all costs go and get it! do not sit at home waiting. So there are no local stores, no car? no bus service? no trains? no taxis? not even the abilty to WALK to store? for I assume it you were not successful? WHY?
My thanks again to OP :Tand well done to all who took the time and effort "unlike some!!!" to really get the best benefits from this!!!

l won't quote your comments, Nogin, but you might want to edit your above post. It is extremely rude and offensive to twinklyeys and against the terms and conditions of use of the site. I don't agree with your points either, although that is immaterial, but you should refrain from making things personal and insulting people (even in the early hours).

Quite right-this was clumsy. To say get out more could insult those who are incapacitated.Would you prepared to speak like this without the anonymity offered by the web?

I missed out but why moan? After all you can get a similar experience with a good sparkling white wine.

They had some in stock at my local store but had a 'sorry this item is out of stock' over the price. It clearly wasn't out of stock as there was about ten bottles there!
