1st the removal of the 0845/0870/0871 numbers in late 07, then 'no loyalty' clause when it came to upgrades, no inclusive data in upgrade/new plans and now this?!
WOW they really r up the s*** creak without a paddle!!!!!! HAHA thank god i jumped when my upgrade was due. still got another fone with them though got anova 9 months or so!0 -
Sorry to hijack thread OP,
I took out an upgrade through CPW with the tariff advertised as unlimited internet, which when questioned he said lasted the duration of the 2 year contract and wasn't just until October like O2 themselves offered. Am now starting to think I have been diddled - am I right? Also how do I find out my usage?0 -
Well new contracts befire june 24 will havr umlimited data for duration, contracts after that date will be capped0

I received this tonight:O2: Your data usage is exceptionally high and is affecting the service for other customers. This is against our excessive use policy. To comply with our policy you need to dramatically & immediately reduce your usage. One way to do this is by using your home broadband Wi-Fi or public Wi-Fi hotspots such as BT Openzone and The Cloud. Don't forget you get unlimited Wi-Fi on all our data tariffs. Please go to o2.co.uk/datainfo for more information. If you do not immediately moderate your usage we will have to stop you from using data on your mobile.
I'm currently exactly one year into a two year contract which is supposed to include unlimited data. I'm a heavy user who averages around 2gb a month usage so to me this is not a "minor change" to my contract.0 -

It won't be affecting you then as the o2 website quite clearly states numerous times.
You are on the verge of invoking their fair usage policy which is something totally different.
How do you use 2gb/month? Do you stream a lot of radio etc?0 -
It is fairly easy to use 2GB of data.
Last month I used just over 3GB just by using the sky sports app to watch cricket a few times during the day.0 -

Irrelevant
They said existing customers could keep their unlimited plans.
They have obviously been sneaky and started using FUP's that the customer was unaware of when they signed the contract.
o2 should just get the "testicles" and allow "unlimited" data owners to go elsewhere (where I do not know, but they should be given the choice of PAC'd out)
EDIT: I am unaffected by this anouncement but it stinks of chancing.0 -

Not irrelevant at all.
If you think 'unlimited' actually means unlimited with no restrictions whatsoever then you are very naive.
Yes, they might only just have started enforcing it, but that does not mean it is 'irrelevant' or never existed.0 -

So when they say unlimited it's basically a value between 1 and infinity?
Nobody was told what "unlimited" means and we still can't.
You can't change the goalposts of a contract because it's UNLIMITED INTERNET*
*FUP applies, when we decide it applies
It's ludicruous.
Fine, do it for new contracts.
However, live by the sword, die by the sword.
They can at least honour it for existing customers.0 -

I suppose as an English Scholar I am an idiot.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/unlimited
I am not the idiot here, it's the companies that freeload on the term "Unlimited" that are to blame.0
