What's the bigger picture? Is there some kind of correlation between people who eat sandwiches in supermarkets and benefit frauds? Are these people the same ones who have ASBOs? God forbid, are they from other countries?
Get real, society has far bigger issues that this.
I agree there are bigger issues which is probably why smaller ones like this get left. However I think it is a slippery slope with an escalation into decline....
As for this part of your post ...."Is there some kind of correlation between people who eat sandwiches in supermarkets and benefit frauds? Are these people the same ones who have ASBOs?".......
It is my belief that people who have lower standards/morals and etiquette issues are (IMHO) far more likely to have ASBO's and commit benefit fraud. I am not saying that everyone that eats a sandwich in Asda's has an ASBO..etc but in general the lower the standards you have the more likely you are to suffer with a problem relating to social acceptability and conform.
And as for this part of your post "God forbid, are they from other countries"....I am not sure that I even want to lower myself to respond but what I will say is this. The only people I have ever seen eating whilst in Supermarkets have always been White, Chavvy looking and seem to have a scant disregard for others.
The ones that seem to think it is okay to give their children sweets/crisps off the shelf, in general, always seem to have a fake tan, latest mobile in their back pocket, designer handbag hanging off the trolley and are asking "Where is the Wkd innit?....LOL
OK - I am making a general sweeping statement there but am also tring to lighten the mood,....LOL0 -
because I have two jobs as soon as I finish job 1 I have to travel to start job 2.
Can you answer my question?
In my opinion the answer to your question is no, but that's just my opinion. I don't think people should eat in the aisles of supermarkets, again this is my opinion, you have a different opinion so no-one is going to be right or wrong on this.If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00 -
I'm not sure if this would come under hygine but some people are so allergic to things that they get a reaction by touching what they are allergic to (some people even react if it is in the air! Yes really I know someone who can't go anywhere near salmon as they react). If you are eating somethig that has what they are allergic to in it then you could cause a reaction due to the residue you leave behind. Nuts are a common one for this - I also know someone allergic to nuts through skin contact that if you have been eating nuts you have to wash your hands and face properly before even shaking his hand or hugging him! Even residue on something could cause him to react. Yes people like this usually have the needed injection on them but that does not mean it is nice for them to do this.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0

But that could happen anywhere e.g sitting on a park bench eating a pack of KPs0 -
I think eventually this will be stopped. Many clothing stores have signs up saying "no food/drink to be consumed on premises" as they are concerned about damage to their stock. With the supermarkets now selling clothes and homewares it is only a matter of time (IMHO) that this will be stopped as Asda's will not want greasy fingers touching the ladies lingerie;)
Also....just to throw something else into the pot....
I have never seen any "sandwich eaters" eating whilst wandering around shops such as Selfridges, Harrods or even M&S...IS that because thay have a better class of clientele than Asda's??
Personally I can't afford to shop in Harrods...etc... but I like a wander around every now and again to see how the other half live:rotfl:0 -

I know this is going to backfire but........
I think there are too many people with too little class in society at the moment and THAT is why society in general has the problems it has....(Sandwich munchers being the tip of the iceberg!)

Surprisingly I don't know the statistics and i'm sure you don't either so I can't answer the question of how much they lose as i'm sure you can't answer it either.
No, I can't. And in with the lack of evidence, taking no action would seem the cheapest and probably best course of action. We could of course start imposing rules and post staff on each aisle, but the price of beans will sky rocket.0 -
