Thinking of buying one. Anyone got one and would you recommend? Current car far too expensive to run so thinking of downgrading and really like the look of it. Any advice or comment gratefully appreciated.

Not fussed about the bluetooth and ipod connection bits but quite like the ones with a sunroof. They are soooo dinky looking!!:smileyhea0 -
Wouldn't recommend a Fiat
They are costly to source parts for and the engines in them are not that great.
Go for a Ford, VW or Nissan0 -
Fiat 500 ...over priced, over hyped joke of a car, if you must buy a Fiat, buy the Panda, far better car at around half the cost.0

Another thing that always put me off a Fiat, was years ago I saw an accident, the driver of the Fiat managed to turn there car on it's roof, and the old Escort was barely marked.
Nasty, horrible cars.
Would never buy one, not only are the engines cr*p they look horrible0 -

Goto a dealer & try and buy some basic service items, My sister had a panda a few years back and everything
had to be ordered in, They stock nothing.

Utter mince- what is that based on?
Fiat are one of the best engine manufacturers out there in terms of technology and indeed in diesels. Indeed when GM had their aborted take over attempt, despite paying masses of compensation to pull out they kept a foot in at the engine division, specifically because the diesel engines are very strong- GM engine division was based in Turin and to this day Vauxhalls are still using Fiat diesels! Indeed Fiat have the patent to the Multiair technology which might see DPFs disappear if they can get it working on diesel and is very impressive.
There are a lot of things to criticise Fiat- engines are not one. The Punto is the dog of the Fiat range in terms of reliability, the others are better, and vastly improved. The dealer network and their service lets them down, however in my experience of manufacturers they are not alone in that regard.... If they sorted out the dealer network by telling those who don't meet standards to go, they'd do a lot better.0
