New tyres question

Tyre prices do vary widely.
Once you've got your shortlist, then start ringing around, and do consider the online suppliers like Blackcircles etc. Don't forget also that you want a fully fitted price to include balancing, as that's sometimes extra, and it's usually around £5 per wheel.
Local tyre houses are also a good bet, but sometimes you'll get the like of National Tyres who may be doing deals on a full set. I've dealt with NT in the past, and my local one was great.
What size are your tyres, and what prices have you had so far?
185/65T15's £73.90ea fitted, balanced and new valves from etyres for the energy savers.
Blackcirlces is cheaper at £66.27 for the same tyre which I presume includes the balancing.0 -

Yeah there aren't that many around.
But joining fee is pretty reasonable, plus you might meet the cost just through the saving on the tyres.0 -

And 2.5% cashback from quidco?
valuetyres.co.uk - £67.41 fitted. But there is a 10% code knocking around0 -
I always found http://www.micheldever.co.uk/ the cheapest
You need to be local or going that way at the cheaper end to make any saving.0 -
Blackcircles isn't that cheap, IME. I've always been able to equal or better their prices on decent brand tyres from local fitters.
The cheapest way to buy tyres that I've found is to pay a garage to fit ones you've bought yourself. You can pay as litle as £10 a corner up to £20 (I wouldn't pay that much).
As for the tyres, you can get a huge selection of brands and sizes from http://www.camskill.co.uk I've bought several sets from them without problem.
As for which tyres, it's too variable to guess. What suits one car might not suit another. Toyos have worked well on both my cars. They may not suit yours but they are still a premium (Japanese quality) tyre at a budget price, while they try to get a foothold in the UK market.
Hope that helps.0 -

I did try those as a colleague mentioned them. They want £337.84 in this instance.
Thanks for all the input.0 -

Thiis where shopping around really pays. I followed the link above and found their prices as much as £15 per tyre higher than the price at camskils (link in my earlier post).0 -

As Camskil is supply only, you then have the cost of carriage, plus fitting at a local tyre house, plus balancing at a local tyre house, so all in all there's probably not much in it.That's my mutt in the picture above.0
