I just went on comparison sites and noticed when you tell it you are with EDF online V5 no EDF tariffs are recommended. If you say you are with another supplier but with rest of details the same it recommended EDF online V6 as only about £6 a year dearer than the cheapest.
Have stayed with EDF and transferred onto V6 over the phone with them. Much easier and quicker than changing suppliers and they have changed me over from the date that V5 ends.
Just wanted to point out so people realise that online comparison sites prefer you to change suppliers so don't always show compettitive alternative tariffs from your current supplier.0 -

signup online. Energy Online v5 is not available as an Economy 7 tariff.
Very strange; talk about confusion marketing: the change to my deal (by the look of it a very small increase for my level.

I'm paying "On line saver version 5" with Economy 7 - is that what we are talking about?
[0.175 per day standing charge.
0.09710 day rate per unit.
0.5.230 nite rate per unit.]
For some...
We have been sold for a record price?!?
I wonder if EDF's sale of its UK interests to raise cash to bolster its further nuclear expansion projects, has anything to do with these rushed price increases.
Cheung Kong Infrastructure and...
My version of version 6 ran out after a year, back in January, so when I checked and grumbled, I got transferred to the still available Version 5.
Now I am grumbling again I can be transferred to the all new Version 6.
0.1821 per day
0.0523 per unit economy 7 rate
0.0958 per unit for the rest of the day
guaranteed until 30jun11 to be 2% under Standard Variable Rate.
25.00 quit early penalty.
Oh yes, and don't forget the Tax gearing on every penny saved.(VAT).
Think I will stick not twist for next 11 months.
It's inertia and confusion marketting

PS It's EDF transmission that is being sold to the Chinese; the people who own "my" transformer - we are sticking with the EDF retail that we all know and love.
For those at the back, having trouble keeping up. here is the crib sheet about EDF and the background to the attempt to sell the UK "local loop" distribution to the Chinese.:

If you want a quote for the FiT deal (Feed in Tariff = you sell them electricity) call 0800 0511905 (EDF Contracting) for a quote and mention that you are a customer.0 -

Which websites were you using that didnt show EDF as the cheapest?
Energyhelpline always shows all tariffs but you cannot continue with some (most of the time when its the same supplier as they cannot retain customers) so if EDF were the cheapest they would still show but you wouldnt be able to complete the application.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
Having read lots of people saying the EDF are holding their price until their transfer to a new supplier takes place I got on to EDF to ask for the same. They have now replied to say that nobody will stay on the old tariff. So those who have been told they will I suggest you get it in writing
"Dear xxxxxx
Thank you for your e-mail dated 29 July 2010
Elec a/c XXXXXXXXXXXX
Gas a/c XXXXXXXXXXXX
Very sorry to hear you have decided to leave EDF. My apologies for any confusion regarding staying on the tariff till you change supplier. I can advise no customer will be aloud to stay on this tariff, as the system automatically changes their prices. Once again my apologies.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of further assistance on free phone 0800 096 9000 or reply to this e-mail.
Kind regards
