Finally, this is a private forum owned by Martin. Unfotunately given the resources, it is not a place for free speech. There are rules in place that must be followed if you wish to post.
Kind regards
Just wanted to add my thanks for reopening the thread too.
Presumably we're okay to discuss anything related to the policy, I guess I'm thinking of where people might want reassuarnce that they're not doing anything wrong?
For example if a store manager tells them they're committing fraud, it is useful to know that actually it isn't and it is only the store manager trying to put the frighteners on (if you see what I mean).
I've found this thread an invaluabe and I'd hate to see it go.0 -
Thank you for reopening. I need help!
20% off travel insurance leaflets still in my store. CS were lovely, but would only give 20% off, stating that if they gave me a full refund it would cancel the policy. A manager came over and told her to ring the helpdesk. What I'd said prior to this was "I understand a full refund will cancel the policy, I understand the overcharge policy behind you, I'm not sure how the 2 can both be correct". He then left for CS to deal with on the HO helpdesk.
Just rang HO and they've said the offer has expired, they can't give a full refund and the store only gave the 20% as a goodwill gesture and what more did I want as I'd already got a discount off the price? She reckons its a training issue for CS as they shouldn't have used the word "overcharged" on an expired promotion. i told her the board on CS needs clarification then as the leaflet was on the shelf stating a very clear price to pay and there were lots of them.
So what do I do now? I guess I need to write to HO, address it to Terry Leahy and hope for the best? Any choice phrases I should use? AM really really cross and need to calm down I think before i write the letter0 -
You know, the reason I thought the Price Promise was written so succinctly was to make it easy to understand "if we get it wrong we'll refund you and you keep the product", no caveats, no disgression or sub-clauses just a nice simple promise.
I can't for the life of me understand why Tesco CS staff try to overcomplicate this by applying their own personal perspective to it, this is what leads to all the confusion and general bad feeling (toward Tesco).0 -
VICKER - I got the same response at the w/e about an epired 10% off leaflet for the mobiles that they still had out - apparently the price promise does not apply there as it is a leaflet and it is expired. HO said the same but also said they would investigate store and writeto me as I was made to hang around ofr 30 mins whilst they reached a decision on what to do.Lightbulb moment 10-06-06

From my understanding though store were going to give me a full refund, but couldn't as it would cancel the insurance and they rang the helpdesk for advise on how to get around this problem. When HO rang the store it appears this wasn't the case at all and I misunderstood what was said0 -
Just had a very sucessful week of R&Ring.
I have stuck to the larger tesco'sand the Extras. What are your experiences R&Ring when it comes to the Metro's and Express stores?
Thankyou in advance.

Vicker, as HO are saying no your only option is to take a refund and cancel the policy unless you actually bought it becasue you wanted to take out travel insurance. out of date leaflets are very dificult to convice a refund on as they do state an expirery date on them. I dontk now how buying insurance works in store I have never bought a policy that way what do you buy a pack or do they scan the leaflet and you collect a policy at CS?
I dont really have any other advise for you other than get a full refund if you dont need it.0 -
i noticed the sell for chicken fillets was £2.97 but pack priced at£2.99. got two packs each]at yarmouth and caister. r&r no problem.
also the maltesers selection boxes that i had read about on this site somewhere.
hope ive done this correctly if not please dont moan at me I am a granny who still has a lot to learn about internet0 -
From my own experience, and a comment from 'biglugs' (Local Tescos is at Aylesbury, No R&R opportunities), I was wondering if it may be an idea for users to indicate R&R Hotspots or NoGoes?
As such, biglugs local Tescos at Aylesbury would be an R&R NoGo, and my local Tescos at Abingdon would also be an R&R NoGo, but where users have lots of R&R success (ie weekly) these would be R&R HotSpots.
Obviously, this would give Tescos an easy way of identifying R&R Hotspots for 'attention', but on the other hand if they don't already know which stores are R&R Hotspots, then maybe they need to look at pricing procedures etc...
The idea would be for this to be a separate thread, away from misprices and general misprice discussion. Although, I would understand users may be reluctant to broadcast in an open forum that their local Tescos is a hot bed of R&R opportunities!
I have long been frustrated at reading about misprices on here, only to find that on my next visit the store is locked down tight!
Thoughts anyone? If nothing else, I think there is an opportunity for discussion here.0 -
A new CS at my local store today (they'll be sorry) hadn't taken my list of misprices as I expected the regular awkward CS so I checked a few games but couldn't find any. I did however get the Maltesers and Cars selection boxes so thanks, another pressie put away. CS was very pleasant refunded full amount without any prompting - lets hope shes the same with larger R&Rs.0
