Say for example you are overcharged on a console & game, the offer is £20 off, discount does not come off. CS then insists you've been overcharged on the game only(although not mentioned on poster that discount is off game) why do they offer £20 refund (the price you've been overcharged on the package) if the game actualy costs 27.99, if you have been overcharged on the game and not the package then surely you should get the full price of the game back??0

By the end of last week tescos had to R&R over 2,000 consoles with games. It is above £640,000 by my reckoning.
It will be classed as wastage and no it will not be recovered by increasing prices on products within the same product group.
How do I know this? Because Mr T cannot afford to increase his prices as electrical goods on offer are still more expensive than anywhere else. How many times has Tesco come up on Froogle for being competitive.
Doesn't matter to me anyway as I only go to T's to R&R. My OH works for Asda and we shop there.
Firstly, great choice of words. (Crap)
Secondly, if you had been on the site long enough you would have KNOWN I was a "company man" but just because I state my case strongly doesn't mean I agree with everything Tesco do. A policy is a policy so should be stuck to (R+R), but if you go into a store knowing the correct price then you have not been overcharged (read a post from about 9 months ago that showed Trading Standards backing Tesco when a MSE user went to them after being overcharged and took a copy of a posting of this site as proof!).
However no-one is going to be stupid enough to do that so R+R should be adhered to by EVERY store. A "game" is started when someone buys in multiples ( 5 computers in one branch was bought every 15 mins in one day) and then pretends to act dumb. This site is watched but it is stores that make the mistake by not acting on advice given by HO such as removing misleading POS.
Finally, the £640k you mention will report to wastage but don't you think there is a budget set at the start of the year for waste? There is and if that is going to be overspent then another area will have to overperform. The easiest "line" to overperform on (as it is the biggest) is turnover so that is where most of the overperformance will be tasked. The company makes over £2Bn profit but measures EVERYTHING down to the last penny, hence why it is so successful. It cannot afford to write off £640k even although it might seem like small fry to the likes of ourselves.
This site has helped the stores I have worked in over the past while so keep posting those problems and I will make sure I correct them for you!0 -

Too right! I had forgotten all about it, now I take that to mean its ok to do what we are doing seeing as they even featured someone doing it on their own ads!

jasey01 wrote:bassman do u work for tescos that you know the polices that well. you dont have to do something serious to be banned from all the tescos. you can be banned for anything.and once banned from one banned from all as its seen as trespass
Jasey, you are wrong. You need to do something very serious to be banned from ALL tesco stores, as Constantine has already stated. Yes, Constantine does actually work for Tesco. R&R is not a criminal offence, so I don't know where you get that from. A store can ban you for any reason, as it is private property. However, a store cannot ban you from other stores. A ban like that would need to come from HO. As said, you'd have to do something serious, like headbutt a manager or be a reknowned shop lifter. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

kondormid wrote:first off, I do not see how an R&R could ever be a criminal offence unless there is a level of fraud involved on your part (technically, even if you know the price is wrong you are still being over charged unless you played a part in the pricing or agreed to pay the higher price out of the goodness of your heart) I may be mistaken but thats how I see it.
About banning. It is not a grey area as such but obviously there are different forms of bans. Being told that you are banned by someone does ban you but it is difficult to prove unless it is written or you have some solid form of evidence. It is hard to bring forward tresspass law charges without paper work evidence that a warning has been issued but very easy to ask you to leave a store and to refuse to serve you. It is also very easy to call the police while your in the store and say "I have told him once he is banned I want him to know that it is official and if he returns he can be charged with tresspass" in which case I suspect the police officer would be more than happy to record the fact that you have been warned in his little black book.
That really sums up banning and criminal charges, it is trespass, and trespass is impossible until you have been warned that you are trespassing. And even if you do trespass it does need some evidence in order to go to court.
Technically, you are commiting a criminal act if you are banned from that store and you re enter it, proving that you were banned becomes a whole different ball game and is best avoided by all concerned unless it is in black and white.
Trying to ban someone from an entire chain of stores is exactly the same however for obvious reasons it has to be someone with the authority to actually do it. Which is obvious really as you can not have the manager of one store ban staff from a different store from entering any Tesco land for no solid reason and therefore not able to go to work (ie constructive dismissal).
Trespass isn't a criminal offence. It's a civil one (Law of Torts). You cannot be arrested for Trespass. You can, however, be arrested for a public order offence. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

So lets all stop getting R&R's and instead when we or people we know are overcharged take it straight to trading standards(or who ever is in charge of this happening) where i am sure i have read or heard that Tesco's could be fined somewhere around £2k for each incident and see how much wastage they get then.......©..®..(TM) NothingVentured.

I'd beg to differ there have been plenty of previous r&r's on this insurance for the same reason in the past, I'd say go for it, stick your heels in and fight your corner and you should get it.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0
