They left both SELs up so i'm wondering about giving Trading Standards a ring.0 -

It's a trading standard offence to display goods without a price, they could be fined if they regularly have products without a price.0 -

20% off travel insurance leaflets still in my store. CS were lovely, but would only give 20% off, stating that if they gave me a full refund it would cancel the policy. A manager came over and told her to ring the helpdesk. What I'd said prior to this was "I understand a full refund will cancel the policy, I understand the overcharge policy behind you, I'm not sure how the 2 can both be correct". He then left for CS to deal with on the HO helpdesk.
Just rang HO and they've said the offer has expired, they can't give a full refund and the store only gave the 20% as a goodwill gesture and what more did I want as I'd already got a discount off the price? She reckons its a training issue for CS as they shouldn't have used the word "overcharged" on an expired promotion. i told her the board on CS needs clarification then as the leaflet was on the shelf stating a very clear price to pay and there were lots of them.
So what do I do now? I guess I need to write to HO, address it to Terry Leahy and hope for the best? Any choice phrases I should use? AM really really cross and need to calm down I think before i write the letter
Unfortunately, it is true that the policy is cancelled once they do a refund but the very helpful customer service manager honoured the price promise. She refunded the price to my credit card and then resold the policy to me for cash. This was then refunded through a separate transaction (I did not actually have to part with any cash as they sorted it out). Not quite sure how it was accounted for but I later rang up the insurance company to check the policy and it was still valid.

I guess you could try going back to the store as you were clearly overcharged and Tesco can sort it out if they really want to.0 -
Seems to me that there is a pattern within R&R NoGo stores (see my previous post) that there are many items on the shelves with no prices.....0

biglugs wrote:Yup - the Aylesbury store (the big one) is very good at cracking down on mispricing. All scanners have been removed, every SEL is pulled for every misprice shown on here. This means that often they have products on shelf with no price at all - they'd rather not sell many than take the chances with R&Rs.
maybe they would rather risk an unlimited fine, then? :rolleyes:I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0 -

I have had it in the past with the whitney CD they tried to tell me as the 2 prices were on display the r+r policy didnt apply. I did correct them on this point and got the r+r after a battle.
The fact that 2 prices are on display as long as it scans at the lower price they are covered no r+r if it scans a the higher then they are not indicateing this clearly and could be reported to TS whihc I would do.0 -
mandy_moo_1 wrote:Well that was what i thought, but they said if i wanted to pay 10.87/kg i should have picked up a packet that had 10.87 on the label!!!

After the treatment you've had in this store, assuming it's the same store you had the book problems with, you should report them to trading standards ASAP. They are really taking the !!!!!!.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

I have stuck to the larger tesco'sand the Extras. What are your experiences R&Ring when it comes to the Metro's and Express stores?
Thankyou in advance.
Hi,
Sorry for repeating this request, but does anyone have any experience of the smaller stores..... am not sure what I will be letting myself in for if I find an R&R in one.

Little_John wrote:Vicker, as HO are saying no your only option is to take a refund and cancel the policy unless you actually bought it becasue you wanted to take out travel insurance. out of date leaflets are very dificult to convice a refund on as they do state an expirery date on them. I dontk now how buying insurance works in store I have never bought a policy that way what do you buy a pack or do they scan the leaflet and you collect a policy at CS?
I dont really have any other advise for you other than get a full refund if you dont need it.
You buy a pack off the shelf, give your clubcard details and then get confirmation of the policy through the post.
My point in my letter was that the manager the CS lady spoke to was going down the lines of "yes you've been overcharged, but the system won't allow me to issue a full refund without cancelling the policy. Ring HO to find out how I can give a refund without cancelling the policy" When HO spoke to CS lady when I got home, it appears CS lady backtracked and said they were only ringing HO to confirm the policy did not apply. If the wrong price had been left up, then they would have had to do it, so there must be a way to issue it.
As for needing the policy, as far as I understand it I need a Tesco policy if I pay for a holiday with Clubcard vouchers, so yes I need the policy anyway. So thanks for the advice-will post my letter off but not hold much hope of getting the refund issued.0
