I posted a few days ago about arushofbloods avi....when it is the top post on a page, you get a flash of it each time you refresh/enter the page. Its a bit dissconcerting! I seem to recall being laughed at at the time...

The value of stocks and shares may go down as well as up - does that help? What else did you need to know?
Who or what was I before you came in to my life
    I am not sure

I found some shares that belonged to my Grandad years ago in the Electric Board. My Mam wants to find out what we can do about them but I know nothing about stuff like this and where to start establishing prices and cashing in etc.

My Mam and Uncle are now responsible for them, Id think, as both my Grandparents are no longer with us...

ive been searching for months and am getting no joy... any suggestions?

There are ways of tracking down old building societies/life assurance companies etc...is there not the equivalent for shares? Had a quick glance at Google and Ask but not sure I have enough details to get anywhere. Assume you have tried that approach?

You have tried the savings and investments board here?

Yea, try looking somewhere different to the Tesco threads hahaha.

Seriously, search for the name of the electricty board and the word "registrar" and shares etc. The registrar is the company who looks after the shares (Lloyds etc)

The motley fool uk website might be a good place to ask to help track them down.

did some searches but never got anything i could work with, posted on the savings and investments board but no one has replied - not half as efficient as us Tesco's lot!

Im just not really sure where to start at all, even if I could be directed to an advisor who could help?

    thanks though

Whats tescos policy on exchanging good with no receipt?

Point being I want to exchange the PS2 I got earlier for a Nintendo DS (already got a PS2) but dont really want to show them the refunded receipt.

    Will they exchange?

I expect there are other replies to this I am playing catch up I have been working all day.

I have exchanged games in the past, some stores wont entertain you some will I found younger people on CS were more likley to exchange older people wouldnt. the thing with the games was they had tesco stickers on them and were still sealed well all except the suduko games I swapped 2 games each time for a PSP game and paid a few extra pence.

the problem you will have is that the console and game wont have tesco stickers on them, proof of purchase doesnt have to be the recipt as far as Im aware if you have paid on a card wont your bank statement show a transaction to tesco for the ammountof the console and game or did you buy additional items? worth a try.
