  • You can't be tracked down by your clubcard! Tesco has the right to take the CC off you, as it's their property. Individual stores have the right to ban whomever they want, as it is private property. However, only certain people have access to the clubcard database. These people do not work in the stores.

After reading tonights postings, Ive just realised how significant a few words in my conversation with the a CS executive might be......unless HO CS Executives are one of the "certain people who have access to" look at peoples ClubCard details.....then I stand corrected........but

After leaving a message and my telephone number with a CS minon at HO, I got no reply from the CS Executive I was trying to contact.....I rang again ...got through to the said CS Executive, who apologised and said he had tried to phone me on 0788****...an old number which he had got from my CC details...........so I dare say these details could be passed down to the shop floor, when dealing with "troublemakers"

    The plot thickens...
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!

Regarding changing my username on here, I doubt I'll ever have reason to return to the store in question as it wasn't my local store. Sorry to ruin the manager's aspirations to be Sherlock Holmes, but I won't be darkening his doorstep again.

I travel widely and visit many Tesco stores all over the country. In future I won't use my Clubcard for misprices and will pay in banknotes.
  • It has been know for tesco managers to ban people

Although HO authorised my RnR, I got banned because the manager insisted that as I had scanned the item (in same till movement) before actually purchasing it....then I was fraudulently acquiring goods.....
  • It is always better to live to fight another day who knows it may be somthing big the next time and if the manager has seen you before he/she may remember you from the last time and make life difficult for you and force you to go the route some people have reciently over the xbox 360's.

Ah! silence is golden then. Thanks for the heads up or heads down as it might be. Think I will let them forget my face for a while and move on ;) I do not really feel it is my place to act like a shop lifter as I am only doing what it says on the tin as so to speak. I always buy from the stores I visit and I am not a big R&Rer just good at spotting the odd one. However if they are going to treat me like a thief then I might as well avoid the situation before it arises. Especially as it is the sort of location that I can visit if I stumble on something they can not argue in the future.

To sum up, I think I will treat stores where the boat has been rocked only for the obvious "no problem" R&Rs.

I take it you have multiple clubcards then? As you can only use the phones five times I thought or is there a workaround for that one?

Any more tips on would be much appreciated.
