just a word of advice...go with the sa to show them the sel... as some of them are sneaky....peeps.. and take the sel and say it wasnt there etc....other people on mse.. will tell you the same...

it so happens that that sa is very nice...

and congrats on your first r & r..... i must admit.. i was going back for that later when they changed over staff on the cs desk...

Hi COOLTRIKERCHICK, Im so pleased I pulled off my first r & r. Will be checking the site quite thoroughly from now on. I only work is swansea so have a few more tescos closer to home to choose from. I hear some of the X box 360's are mispriced too, have to check that cuz they certainly dont come cheap!

  • Managed to get some steak last night - c/s were a bit funny with me though, as it was the same lady who'd done my x-box refund! My card is obviously marked with her now.

Playstation 2 Dance Factory & Dance Mat on the same shelf as just the Dance Factory (no mat) with SEL of £29.97. Charged £34.97. This was a mistake, as the Dance Mat one was on the wrong shelf. BUT, there was no other shelf available for it.

Full refund, EVENTUALLY, but after a big ding-dong with manager:

Took CS to shelf and she agreed I'd been overcharged, but then an SA from the department took a closer look and said the one I had was different from the one on the shelf. Which it was.

I then explained that there must have been two of each on the shelf, as there was still one there (one was left at checkout), along with the two ordinary games.

She explained a customer had probably done it - so, tough.

I then pointed out that there was no "correct" shelf for them, so where should they have been?

She called the manager, who said, "deal with the lady. She is a TS officer". I said I wasn't and he stated that I'd told him I was. I'd just spoken to him by the baby milk about a promotion on first milk, explaining that TS had been on to Tesco before for that. He then said that he'd obviously misunderstood me, and stood by the SA. No refund.

I explained that there was nowhere else for the game to have been, so the SA was told to deal with it as an overcharge, and he left.

She then said she would give me £5 back. I said that was not correct. She said she was told to do an overcharge. I asked what the correct policy was re overcharge, and she growled at me and gave me my £34.97 back.

She asked for my full details, so I scribbled my name (illegibly) and gave my work's postcode.

    Feeling very, very shaky now.

Thing is - it was not an INTENTIONAL overcharge by me. I just bought it for my girls who have saved for a PS2 and just bought themselvcs one.

    Feel very aggrieved. Grrrr.

Oh, and at Middlebrook, they've put stickers over the offers on the games consoles apart from the PSP - don't know if this will be an overcharge or not. I certainly won't be trying!!
  • Crawley Tesco: SELs for Kaiser Chiefs, Genesis CD and Karin Slaughter hardback all corrected. No sign of Narnia or DragonballZ on DS and game of the week POS displays had been updated.

Both self-scanners out of order. When I discovered the first one wasn't working staff sent me to another but that wouldn't scan either.
  • I don't know if this is the corect place to post.
But, there are many many 10% off MOTAROLA mobiles leaflets ( Exp 3rd Sept?) at the checkouts in South Wigston Tescos ( Leicestershire).

Will they work to get R+R

Looking at your earlier posts, didn't they originally say the discount was only on the game, and offer you the game for free? That means they admitted that Game of the Week was the game you purchased! And now they are changing their story completely, making you feel like a liar when it's actually them who are lying.

Don't give up on this one. Ask them why they originally offered you the game for free, because that was obviously an admission of their mistake.

Give it another day or two then write to the chief exec Terry Leahy - see page 1 of this thread.

Exactly, they have already admitted responsibility by offering me a refund. Some of the BS they are coming out with is unreal, one guy said 'the game of the week slot isnt for the game of the week, its just to display new games' lol. Then he told me Id got confused between xbox360 and PS2 games. But the biggest lie is the manager claims that she offered to replace lego star wars 2 with their game of the week !! absolute lie ! she did nothing of the sort.

As I say, I have asked them to check the cameras and I have specifically asked the team leader I dealt with today

'If the cameras show a member of your staff has put that game in the wrong section, do I get a full refund?'

She reluctantly said yes. So time will tell, still waiting for them to get back to me.

I have drafted a lengthy letter to Terry Leahy stating everything thats has happened, as well as emailing trading standards with the same information. If my r&r is not successful, I will add what happens next and send it to Mr Leahy, although I believe he's on holiday.

It so frustrating because I know Im right. They are happy to take 20 pounds too much off me, but are a little more reluctant to refund me as per their 'promise'. A trading standards officer is ringing me within the next 2 days, so Ill see what they have to say as well. Im still quietly confident because in my mind, the ONLY person that is going to put lego star wars in the game of the week slot is a member of staff.

    Fingers crossed
    Every little helps....

  • hi, just a quick question as i'm new to all this! when the SEL's say offer ending e.g. 12/08/06 does that mean that the 12th is the last day of the offer or that the 12th is the first day where the price has changed back?

    thanks,
