personally i wouldn't have gone into that store again as you did. Unfortunately its just another example of the manager doing as he pleases which isn't pleasing you. Put it down to experience- you win some etc...
Why ever not? To avoid a store because you have been overcharged and subsequently been successful in respect of r&r would mean you would very quickly if vigilant when shopping run out of stores you could purchase from.

    Anybody? Ideas?

Obviously you are pushing your luck but as far as I can see the three offers were entirely seperate.

The game was a straightforward case of a wrong SEL.

The next was a bundle that should have triggered a discount and didn't.

    The last was similar.

In each instance, I believe, Tesco were responsible for misleading signs.

You didn't go back to the same store and get the same item which may be miconstrued ( sorry for spelling ) as intentionally seeking a misprice when you had prior knowledge - ie had already had an r&r on the same product.

But more importantly with the last two, it was not possible to predict that the offer would not work as you couldn't check at a scanner as it was a bundle deal.

Contact HO, ask if the policy only applies to people that don't know it exists!

Better still ask kondormid or ben, they both appear to be very sharp cookies and will hopefully be able to help you more than I ever could.

I would add to above by the way that the manager did not even need to take the items from your possession, had the psp still been in the stockroom for example it was still your property and if he simply refused to hand it over then a case for intent to permanantly deprive would have to be answered still.

I very sorry if this is wrong place for this, I have two question on tesco policy.

    1) Could someone send me information about this xbox thingy ? because I can't find it.

    2) Reading the first bit on the forum talks about SEL and products and if they don't match then your entitled to a refund and you get to keep the product...I get this ....

but what does the law say about these offer label (yellow) on the side of the shelfs and it stats the offer expires blah blah so if the label is on the shelf after the expiry date where do you stand....

    cheers

Think Notasdaftasyoulook is saying maybe going back to the same store a day after getting an rr, and trying again, is just pushing it a bit, what ever the rights or wrongs of either party.

Personally would have looked for a change of CS staff before attempting that.
Back to square one, no apg, no comment.

  • Diolch yn fawr iawn, for pointing that out Ben500 :D
(for non welsh it means thank you very much, I looked it up especially just to put a smile on his face)

Yes I do get a bit muddled between the whole tesco vs tesco managers thing.

To be honest I am half thinking of issuing some sort of generic letter to HO and informing them on behalf of the general public that stores are required to scrap any information in regards to people doing refunds on overcharges as it is not a criminal offence and it is causing or is likely to cause distress when someone tries to enter a store or ask for a refund and is refused.
I might see if I can get someone to do it for me though :D

I noticed that there is a xbox core system on offer which expires tonight so I'll goto tesco tomorrow and see !

OK but understand that in general this doesn't work as well as just picking up an offer when it is still on. Yes I know it sounds mad, but it is one of those things that Tesco keep mucking up on. They offer something and then do not give it.
