You're correct! Thanks Kronen. I must admit I thought that as I drove away from the store last night! I even posted that it was £3 the night before.
I will be ringing the store tomorrow to get a refund!

I'd say a fortnight was plenty enough time for a response, send a follow up letter after that time setting out a period for response before you "pursue other avenues" if nothing comes from the second communication you should then approach T/S and ASA with complaints as advised earlier in the thread, keep records of all communications and dealings.

Phone CS tomorrow. It's not the customer's fault that the store left up out of date POS. As far as the customer is concerned, if you buy the relevant top up, you get £20 off the phone. If the discount does not come off, you have been overcharged on the phone, thus you should get your money back and keep the phone for free.

Just one question - why did you go for the K510i and not the V3i or the K750i?

sorry, I did actually get K750 (HAVE EDITED POST) worked a treat £150 phone!

What Tesco should have done with regards the POS is say "Free £20 Top Up with any Virgin or Vodafone PAYG phone over £50. Free £10 Top Up with any Virgin or Vodafone PAYG phone under £50". However, Tesco, in its infinite wisdom, tried to make it look a better deal than it was. For this reason, they're now refunding on phones rather than on top up cards. :>
