Took my shopping to the checkout and asked for a top up card at the same time. Checkout operator printed it off and handed it to me. You've got to buy the phone and the top up at the same time, in the same transaction.
You can't take the phone to the till. You only get your hands on the phone once you've paid for it. You have to take the DVD case with the phone details on it to the till and pay for the phone and the top up at the same time.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Plushchris wrote:If I were to pick up the mariokart bundle and the GOTW would the discount come off?
Think it would be worth the arguement as the poster simply states "when bought with a DS" and I would be buying it with a DS!
The mario kart bundle is included witht he DS offers as far as I know as they have a yellow sel. I got a white ds lite the other week on r+r with an out of date poster showing the wrong GOTW. that is the only way you can sort of guarentee that the discount wont come off. sometimes they forget to add a certain pack to the offer but it is totally pot luck if you get he discount or not. give it a try and if the discount comes off then forget your credit card and have no other option of paying for it.
As for r+r taking over your life it does sort of I usually travel the "long way" home via as many stores as I can.0 -
Thought you might like to see the price promise wording on the Tesco Ireland site. I presume it's the same instore.
No Quibble Policy
Our "No Quibble Policy" is our way of showing customers that we always charge the right prices in our stores. It states that: "in the unlikely event of you being charged a price at the checkouts that is higher that the price mounted on the display, we will give you that item absolutely free and without quibble".Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves0 -

And if things don't add up ~
In the unlikely event you are charged a higher price than on the shelf or the product we will refund your money and you can keep the product, but only after a massive argument with CS and the Duty Manager, a number of calls to Dundee and a three week wait. We reserve the right to intimidate you with our Security staff and intimate that you're a thieving con artist who put the POS up yourself. We can, at any point, remove POS material and claim that it never existed and that you were imagining it. We also reserve the right to ban you from our store for showing us up and being right. Tesco - Every little (white lie) helps!

taxiphil wrote:Coupon-mad, I can see where you're coming from but I still feel the best option is not to accept anything other than a full R+R - i.e. if they won't honour their policy, walk out of the store with your receipt and your item, and then take it up with Tesco CS / Trading Standards. Doing this ensures that the matter is left wide open and unresolved. Although once again I would stress the importance of getting a photo of the relevant SEL/poster, or at the very least have a witness with you who can attest to it being on display when you made the purchase. Obviously the first thing they are going to do is remove (and possibly destroy) the offending shelf price.
I agree with this.
the other day I got a ps2 & game discount did not come off. Manager offered me the difference of £20. i argued for a full refund, before I left the store with the product he again aked me if I wanted to have the £20 refund while I sorted it with HO, I said no and his face dropped. Phoned HO from outside, told them I disagreed with offer of £20 and one of the first questions I was asked was "at this present time are you still overcharged?" when i said yes I could tell it was 'all systems go' , the bloke on the phone was brill BTW and 100% on my side. he even said that they were trying to 'wangle their way out of it'! I think that if you accept store can push it that you accepted settlement.
I also got my daughter to take a photo of poster with her mobile!0 -

mandy_moo_1 wrote:anyone know how long i should leave it before chasing up a reply to the letter i sent Sir Terry regarding one of his stores?
I only sent it on Monday, registered post, but they haven't even bothered acknowledging the copy i sent by email.
If it gets to a couple of weeks without a reply, whats the best thing to do? Ring his secretary or write another letter giving them a time limit ie 7 days to respond?
Any ideas anyone......please?
wanna get it resolved but dont want to be too pushy0 -

Hi, Just been to tesco and got a SE K510i and voucher, discount did not come off. Manager has offered me £20.00 off as a goodwill gesture. He said the poster should not have been left up. Also the poster stated
£20 off handsets over £50.00
£10 off handsets under £50.00*
* subject to availability and expires 17/9/06.
I said the * indicates that the £10.00 had expired not the £20.00
He wouldn't budge so I said I will think about it and pop back in tomorrow. He wrote his offer on my receipt.
If I ring head office what do you think they will say and whats the number.
Cheers0
