re Scissor Sisters CD, Tesco would be well within theirpolicy to only refund the CD as its only the CD that has been overcharged on. The offer relates directly to the CD. (Anbody know if it works with Racing stripes!!! Another £3odd DVD and one that the kids want!!)

The Daddy Day Care sel was white, the spiderman was yellow presumably as it's in the 3 for £15.00 offer. If the sel is white as repeated in other posts concerning other products go for it.
As said before I did only get the cd refunded & the wording on the stand said £6.77 when purchased with chart cd/dvd, so did not fight the case, waiting for the biggie.
CS also said that Daddy Day Care could not be in the charts as it is old, do they not know how the charts are worked out?

Just to clarify Spiderman was yellow 3 for 15, Racing Stripes and "Daddy Day Care" were both White SEL. However the offer did work correctly and you get 2.80 knocked off the CD. Mine went through this evening though pretty late so I am guessing it has been fixed.

Good offer all the same :D Hope they keep this one up on a week to week basis as it is a pretty easy way to raise a few Xmas pressies some of which may be free.
  • I spotted X-Box today , GOTW was Test Drive and PS2 with GOTW Lets make a soccer team. Will I get refund if I buy? I am still unsure! Please advise

I got Scissor Sisters and Daddy Daycare today, discount did not come off at around 2.50pm. Also noticed that Racing Stripes has a white SEL so think it would be worth a go!

CS chap phoned up Manager to 'see what to do', then cheerfully offered to reverse the transaction and put it through the till again for me so that I get my discount on the CD (big smile).:rotfl:

'Errrrr, no thanks, that's not as per your policy, it's an overcharge isn't it?' I replied, pointing to the infamous blue sign. What fun, he made a point of reading it v.e.r.y...s.l.o.w.l.y - then agreed and refunded both. TBH I would have been happy with the free CD as the SEL offer is worded as money off the CD, but hey ho, it's another freebie!

I do wonder if the offer won't work on any DVD lower than 30 in the chart? May be worth a try. This because I went in a smaller Metro store later and saw they have the same offer up, but they only display the first 30 chart DVDs (but with CDs they display the top 60 there). So you couldn't get R&R in a Metro for this (unless there are any more glitches).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I am sorry, I need to get a good solid 7 hours sleep I know, but could you clarify, which dvd did you get with the scissor sisters cd which DID trigger the discount, ie you didn't get the R&R, then I know which one NOT to get.
Eldest daughter wants cd ( as do I ) and youngest son would love a nice dvd - or he better on Xmas morning :D
I seem to have read posts saying both Daddy Day care and Spiderman plus cd resulted in an R&R, did you mean one of these has now been fixed, or did you try Racing stripes and not get the R&R.
Apologies again, I'm off for an early night:wave:

I can confirm that the DADDY DAY CARE DVD is now giving the discount correctly! Gives £2.80 off.
They may have fixed this glitch but who knows for sure?

  • When being refused R&R on an expensive item, has anyone ever asked for their reasons in writing with signature? would be keen to see managers reaction to this

Just got in so apologies for the delay in responding. A few months back I managed to pick up a microwave with grill which was showing 2 prices. I (correctly) guessed that the higher price would be charged, paid and took the large box out to the car before going back to customer services for a refund.

To cut a long story short the duty manager would not come to see me after my initial request for R&R was refused but he wrote on my receipt "£5 refund only", I think for the benefit of the person dealing with my overcharge. I obviously refused this kind offer and took the matter up with Head Office, who kindly rang the store and arranged for me to collect a refund the following day (while keeping the microwave). When I called in to the store the customer service assistant (who had clearly been briefed by HO and was very apologetic) was completely gobsmacked that the duty manager had written that on the receipt and even went as far as to apologise on his behalf as he "was new" and needed more training.

At the time I believed her but having read some of the recent posts on here it sounds to me like he was simply trying to fob me off as cheaply as possible. I'm sure a signed refusal in any clear cut R&R would lead to a swift overrule from HO, however it is unlikely that any managers (unless new!) would be that daft.

Whilst I understand you eagerness to get a console and get us to help you, we are really not in any position to say if you would get a refund or not. You will have to buy it to find out.

Each tesco is different, one tesco will have a misprice and the other not have a misprice.

If you pay the right price, then simply return it and ask for a refund, if you are overcharged then pursue your r&r.

Even if you are overcharged you may still not be successful. The only way to find out is to try.

If it doesn't work out for you, the minimum you will win is the clubcard points. You cannot lose.
