taxiphil wrote:Regarding the manager who questioned me on the shop floor about my Clubcard balance and forced me to justify it to him; I have just received confirmation that nobody from Head Office passed on any of my Clubcard information to this manager, nor would they be allowed to.
Therefore this manager was apparently on his own individual mission to intimidate me by grilling me about my Clubcard balance. I don't know how he got access to my Clubcard account but I'm sure that the Data Protection Act and Tesco's Clubcard Charter have both been breached in a very serious manner.
The Clubcard scheme was not set up for store managers to bully and intimidate customers by using data obtained about them.
This is akin to your bank manager approaching you in the middle of the bank and saying "Tell me how you've got £7000 in your current account. Where did this money come from?".
I am very angry about this whole matter. I was treated with great suspicion as if I was some kind of criminal, when my high Clubcard balance is actually a result of spending large amounts of money with various Tesco departments, e.g. financial products.
I'll be taking this matter to the very highest levels.
I hev been waiting to see what the outcome was.... thankyou for keeping us up do date......:)The most vital time to relax is when you don't have time for it.

I must say I extremely !!!!!! off with Tesco's and felt I needed to vent my anger soewhere and as I read this board often I felt here might be a suitabe place.
They are now adapting the posters to add the disclaimer, "at managers discretion" and their cs attitudes suck.
I have only ever had a couple of r&r's (the largest of which was £80), but still do my weekly shop either instore or online.
On sunday I bought a "tesco triple blade" branded razor which is far cheaper than the prmium brand ones i usually use. Along with this i bought a pack of "tesco triple bladed system" razor blades. I would have assumed that these blades would fit this razor. However when opened they are nothing like it. I took them back to tescos cs desk, who was adamant that she could not offer an exchange since the packet was open.
Next, I told her that I thought I had been overcharged on a pack of apples. As I do my shopping I tend to write the prices of everything down on a notepad, a bit sad I know but oh well (and this is mainly due to the awareness of how many times overcharging takes place). She told me that she cannot refund two days after the incident.
So, thanks for the many fun hours reading this board but for me its now bye bye to tesco forever. Really I should phone or write and complain, but I have many other things to fill my life with and wasted time and petrol money going backwards and forewards to tesco is not any more enjoyable.
Maybe tesco have got their own way here....maybe thats they want, people who find the r&r's to shop elsewhere so they can get on with their everyday gross mischarging.
Rant over. And thanks for an enjoyable board.0 -
Ok, which one of u greedy !!!!!!s had al the wicked vodka out of Old Kent road store ?
Nearly every sel I checked is correct, the red moto phone expired sel is still up but the blody thing scans correct.
And the pc I had my eyes on disapeared for 3 days off the shelf but the sel stayed, now the sel is gone and the pc's are back.
me thinks T is getting a bit hotter.
not to worry, wombled a £50 petrol receipt on the way outBack to square one, no apg, no comment.0 -
:T I love this game!! Trouble is my lunch hour just isn't long enough any more, and I end up forgetting what I've gone in for.
Last night got two copies of Torey Hayden Beautiful Child book, stickered £8.97 scanned at £9.97 (all the rest of the stickers were £9.97) just checked and some don't have stickers at all now, so I guess CS removed them, and 4 x selection boxes (3 Maltesers, 1 Mars) all scanned at £2.29 instead of 2 for £4. She tried to fob me off by coming back with the 2 for £5 label and saying mine weren't on that promo. Put her right and she grudgingly went off again, then returned and caved in. Face was like thunder, but refunded no problem - £29.10 r&r.
Today's visit I thought was no good as I scanned several stickered books, DVD's and CD's but all scanned correctly - Brother bear DVD was priced correctly too.... but struck lucky at the last minute! Organic frying steak was priced up at £2.89/kilo and white SEL was £2.29/kilo. Bought 4 packs - took the CS lady back who then told the assistant filling the shelves to check everything as "unfortunately this lady has just brought 4 packs". Full refund no problem - "as it was our fault" and "thank you for spotting that" - £13+ r&r. Whilst standing in the meat aisle with her, I also spotted that the organic stewing steak was also mis-priced (can't remember how much), so will be paying another visit soon!
My husband now thinks I'm obsessed with "playing spot the difference" and reading this board. Thanks to all who contribute to it and make "Every penny count"0 -
Had a result with the whole organic chicken pack price £4.19/kg, SEL £4.03/kg. Got two , ful R&R. When the CS went to get the SEL, she found one underneath it for £4.39/kg..... we now had three prices for the same item !!!!!!!
She was very nice and appologised for Tesco's overcharge. :jThe most vital time to relax is when you don't have time for it.

Riyazi wrote:While looking for misprices I noticed that my local tesco has included a yellow SEL with the following in a small font underneat the price "charged at the higher price, where available, between the period xx/x/xxxx to xx/x/xxxx". This was usually on the mp3 players and ipods and I had noticed this in some of the London tescos as well. From last week they have included this policy on to the digital cameras as well.
what does this policy mean and does the R&R apply to this since they are able to charge the higher price ?
thanks
It means it is a permanent reduction and to 'reduce' it and say it is in a 'sale' it has to have been sold at full price for so many days first... 28 i think!
thats how outlet stores work, they have to have at least 1 place where items are sold at 'full' price before they can be actually classed as a sale/reduction!
Hope this helps:D:happylove !!NEW AND JUST LEARNING!! :happylove0 -

Something like a mere 2% of dissatisfied customers actually complain, they just hit the stores where it hurts, by taking their business elsewhere - this is from the Institute of Customer Service who write the 'standards' for customer service qualifications and do research into this! just prooves it right!:happylove !!NEW AND JUST LEARNING!! :happylove0 -

I would suggest you check out ebay. I have managed to get a couple of games which are no longer widely available for literally a couple of pounds each. Both were new and sealed and so far have had no complaints from the kids, so I assume they are happy, and the games are working fine.
Also got me a few brownie points as well
If you are prepared for a bit more effort.......don't just look for mis-prices on the games you want, or even for the console you want. Once you have your game, and your refund, you MAY then be able to go back later ( to another store if need be) and swap for the game you DO want, and if you have to pay any difference, at least it will be a lot less than buying the game outright.
I don't normally have a problem returning/swapping a game/cd/dvd which is still sealed, and even better if it has got the Tesco sticker on......but if it is the 'wrong' price on the sticker, just play dumb when they scan it, and say it was a present your son received.;)0 -
Anybody who still has the xbox and game in their posession don't give up hope yet. I got one at the start of the month and was refused point blank by management at the store, even the store manager. I phoned cs at head office and they agreed with the store manager saying the discount was due on the game not the package. A receipt was subsequenly posted on here showing the discount indeed applied to the package. I returned to the store and again no joy, they would only adhere to the original offer of the game for free. I left the store again with the package in my posession and i had a lovely 10 day hol in Egypt!
As usual when you return from holiday i am a bit skint and the sight of the xbox package started to look really tempting to refund and free up some cash. I decided to trawl through the forums on here and see if anybody had had better luck than me. With help from fellow mse'ers i found some useful contact names and special thanks to smartsuit, a little advice.
Armed with a little information and a quick call to cs asking if i could speak to one of the team dealing with the xbox fiasco. They acted as if they knew nothing about it so when i mentioned the names i'd collected i was put straight through to Kevin Kelly, a consumate professional who quickly rectified the matter for me and informed the store of what they had to do.
Arriving at the store, cs were already aware of who i was and duly called the store manager. The same man who had refused me twice before even saying the second time " you are not going to get a free xbox mate, not in my store ",well all of a sudden he didn't look so cocky. " I still don't agree with this, i don't know who you spoke to... " he said and by the look on his face it could have been coming out of his own wallet!
So, one very unhappy store manager and one very happy customer, but probably the best bit was the number of customers around who were asking each other why i was getting £320 refund and i hadn't brought anything back?
If you still have the xbox then i think you have won!
Many thanks for all advice and help folks - Is this the world's best site?0
