Anyway, no cravings at the moment, I need to get stuck in to my work now, as well as my Werthers Originals, coffee and chewing gum
You made me smile.:rotfl:
I don't have a sweet tooth, or like chewing gum.
But in my fag free weeks I've actually bought sweets -and they were Werthers Originals !!!! - Oh 'eck is it an age thing?!!!
And bought 'orrible Niquitin Chewy.
Still determined to stay a quitter/non smoker, have the craving a few times a day, but tell myself 'don't be so stupid'.
I wake in the morning, take a few deep breaths ,and they are deep breaths, no coughing! My house smells nice - (Ambi Pur, scented candles, Febreeze!!) and I don't smell like an old ashtray!
I've quit at least a dozen times previously - got to stick with it this time for health and wealth reasons.
Stick with it and try to think possitive.:T :T:grouphug: A smile, a 'please' and a 'thank you' cost nothing0 -

trickster wrote:Just been to Poundland to get the nicotene gums. Had one, blimmin horrible, but I can honestly say that I didn't fancy a smoke after it.
The thing is right;
Should I bother with them? If I am having one when I fancy a smoke, then surely all I am doing is replacing my nicotene intake via a cig with gum instead. I know you're meant to gradually reduce the gum, but isn't it just prolonging the agony?
Should I just go cold turkey and grin and bear it?
Thanks for the words of support and encouragement so far.
I agree 100% with what TNG said. Read back through this thread to see why.still a SF nerd no.1:o

I am going to update my sig with debts etc but just wanted to say that I have been off the cigs for 6 weeks and 1 day now. At 40 a day I have saved an awful lot of money.
Good luck to you all with kicking the habit.
Welcome and well done on quitting for so long. You've got my brain cells going now, but don't worry, I won't probe!still a SF nerd no.1:o

TNG wrote:I have read that you shouldn't make pacts and stop together, as if one starts again, the other almost always does.
Do it for yourself, not for anyone else. My Mrs still smokes (not in the house, mind).
Look forward to Monday with excitement, not trepidation :T
edit : and check your pm's!
