  • I am in my 3rd week now. Used patches and inhalator combined and still going strong, only got one patch left and don't feel like I need them anymore so will save for an emergency. Just keep my plastic fag handy incase I get an urge like when I wake up and other then that only use about 5-6 capsules a day. Got an appointment with new leaf women tomorrow night, always helps going to see them weekly as it keeps you motivated :) My carbon monoxide levels went from 19  to 1 in a week and I haven't smoked since so I expect it to be 0 tomorrow. I was severely ill last week from all the crap coming up from my lungs, even this morning I still have black lumps coming up from my chest and I have a smokers cough that I didn't have when I smoked but if I can just hold out till it is all gone I know I will reap the benefits.
  • I had a very difficult day yesterday, to the point that I nearly buckled, but I'm so glad I didn't.

Hang in there squirrel. The cigarette would have made NO difference to that day. It would still have been difficult. Accept that you will get days like that from time to time, just like everyone else.

    Today will be better!

I stopped smoking on Monday, Monday was surprisingly no problem, yesterday there were a few moments but overall it was ok. Today is another matter entirely and it's not even lunch time

So I thought I would drop in here and wibble for a minute. It is taking all my willpower not to go to the shop, I don't know why because I don't like smoking, it's expensive and it smells horrid (and I'm starting to realise just how horrid it actually smells!) and besides which I am a non smoker so why would I need cigarettes? ;) I don't need one, that's silly, I don't NEED to poison myself or start the whole nicotine cleansing process again from scratch.

On the plus side, in 6 and a half hours I am going to my stop smoking group and I will get to do the carbon monoxide blowy thing and it should have gone down to a green light instead of a red flashy "you're going to die any second" light. So that will help I think :j

Well done bunnyhop!!!! and welcome :hello:

Today will probably be your worst day. This is when the physical effects are at their peak and therefore when your brain is doing its utmost to get you to have a cigarette. Be strong, do some deep breathing, drink lots of water. You'll be fine. you're doing REALLY well so far

    Thank you! That helped!

I blew a green light at the smoking group :j Last week, on my 30 a day habit, I got 31 and today I got 1! I know that it was never going to be anything other than that because I haven't smoked but I admit a tiny part of me was scared it was going to turn red anyway :rotfl:

I am in the middle of washing everything I own because I can smell smoke on it now and it's icky, I'm really wishing I'd never smoked in my room
  • OK difficult patch over for now - it wasn't that I was craving a cig particularly, but just felt something was lacking. Thanks all for the support:beer:

Day four! I think I'm about the same as yesterday which hopefully means tomorrow will be way better, it's mostly habit, me thinking "oh I'll have a cigarette now" and then thinking "oh wait, no I won't".

I am sooo bored of thinking about cigarettes all the time, please tell me I'll be able to think about other things again soon!

My throat hurts though which means it's getting better :j
