    Kimbo_kim,

don't worry about it. It is temporary and will pass (the weight thing, not food tasting better:D)

Fact is that the feeling of 'withdrawal' is exactly the same as the feeling of hunger, so whereas before, you would have a smoke, now you have something to eat. As I say, it is temporary, as the feeling will lessen. I have put on a stone, but I'm not worried about it. What is a little bit of weight anyway, compared to the alternative i.e. if you smoked?

Relax - accept that you may for a short time eat a bit more than you used to, but it will get easier.

    P.S. 3 months tomorrow for me :T :T

    PPS Get well soon Y&R

Tell me about it my waist has grow by 3 inches but my wiegth has only gone up by 4 Kg. Feel like I am eating like a horse but am much more mobile at work now probably walking about 3 miles during the day.

I just want to eat! I know why and its not because I am hungry.

Down to only one bag of Malteesers a week now and the one I had on Saturday managed to last 40 mins into the Film. Used to be 10 mins. Most people did not want to eat that were watching it. ( One Lady up the back actually Barthed. ) Oh the film was Saw III, More gore than the first 2

Glad people are doing well. Anybody that has failed, pick yourself up and start again. Remember never stop stopping.

oh 1294 hours for me. 54 days nearly. it will be 5 Million Seconds without a Ciggy around 2.45 pm on Friday.

  • Hi everyone

I hope you don't mind me jumping on board but I quit on Friday evening after reading Allen Carr's book. I was a 20 a day smoker for probably 15 years.

I'm only on day 3 so far but feeling good. I can associate with the hunger pangs though! I've bought loads of fruit and have been nibbling at these when the moment strikes.

I wondered if it was just me but is anyone else having trouble sleeping at night? I am so tired but just can't sleep.

Yes, I had that, but it only lasted a couple of weeks. My temperature and heart rate went through all kinds of fluctuations, and I found it hard to wind down at first. I'm a bit insomniacal at the moment, but for other reasons (I'm on the Nytol at the moment - it knocks you out, but I've been having very weird dreams - not sure if it's related).

Hello PP! :hello: and welcome to the thread!

Oh yes, 3 or 4 nights I couldn't sleep. I even dreamt about smoking and I felt so disappointed even though I was dreaming!

    Good luck, keep us posted!

its very annoying, in one way it's better than the 15 i was smoking, but on the other hand its not really stopping is it?

I find it soooooo hard when I get in from work and the OH has cigarettes on him, I know they are there and it makes me want one

i'm gonna read the book again!!

  • Dear skintasusual - reckon cutting down from 15 to 3 is pretty good going - I'd congragulate yourself rather than beating yourself up :T

skintas - could you ask OH for help by asking him not to bring them home, or hide them, or smoke outside. If you explain that it would really help you, I'm sure he would understand

You're doing good - don't beat yourself up

PP - I have had that before (not this time, though). I used to dream that i had smoked and they were so vivid that I would wake up convinced I had smoked!!! Very weird for a while, but once your body has got rid of the chemicals, things will get better
