Now on 396 hours.
And another really bad nights sleep up after only 5 hours of sleep and i am knackered but I can't sleep.
But I ain't going to give in.
I know what you mean about the 5 hours of sleep. When I woke up at 5.45 the other day, I felt so fidgety I couldn't get back to sleep, so got up, had breakfast, got dressed, went out for what was intended to be a 30 minute walk and didn't get back until about 8.30 or 9 (it was my day off). It was such a beautiful morning, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Part of the walk was along the water's edge and a pair of swans followed me for some of the way. I would have missed that if I'd got up and read the paper with a coffee and a fag. My point, I suppose, is that I've wasted SO MUCH time!
I'm sure it will get easier for all of us.

1. being on the phone on long serious conversations ( 2 smoked, 2 occasions)
2.being in a situation with someone who was stressed and smoking and offered me one. ( 2 smoked, one before stressful event one after)
DOes anyone have any tips on how to deal with these "hotspots?"
I would have been the same as you, 3 weeks ago, but it's now dawned on me that smoking doesn't make stressful situations any less stressful. This might not be much help, but maybe try to keep that in mind in situations like you've described. I've had a couple of stressful occasions in the last couple of weeks, but remarkably haven't desired a smoke at all. I have to admit that I haven't had any long serious phone convos (when i would have been the first to reach for the packet) in the last 3 weeks, or had someone offer me a cig, but I feel like a non-smoker now and I just KNOW I would be OK.holier than thou0 -

For me - stop what ever you are doing and take a big deep breath and breath out slowly - repeat 10-12 times. Craving gone

Well done on your extra star. :T
A little known fact but you have to get to 550 to get 3, and 2000 to get 4 and 6000 to lose them all.3.795 kWp Solar PV System. Capital of the Wolds0 -
Thanks for all the feedback. First part of last night was horrible, second part, thankfully, was OK, so had some decent sleep. The feeling is awful, it is similar to losing someone, the dreadful realisation that it they will never be there again.
Which is stupid because it is only cigarettes for crying out loud!!!
It is amazing how the subconcious works - I will not let it beat me. Thankfully this feeling only lasts in the between sleep/wake thing and I am sure it will pass.
Unfortunately my OH managed to give up from midnight to when he got to work. His job is the worst in the world for people having a go, so it is going to be more difficult for him. I am not going to be judgemental though.
60 hours a non smoker!! :j £10 better off, £15 by 6pm!! :j
