  • Hello Everyone,

Glad to see the post is still going strong! I'm hanging in there, last night was tough but got through it, couldn't smoke in the restaurant anyway, but still felt a bit weird!

    Everyone good?

Bad day for cravings. Need to do something constructive.

  • To all of you a simple message -

Keep going, it Really does get a lot easier.

That's from someone who stopped a year ago. Well it will be on October 5th.

I smoked for 24 years and stopped afew days before my 40th Birthday. I thought if I could get through the parties, nights out etc associated with that then I could manage anything.

Well I was right. I didn't use any NRT stuff, I'd already tried just about every form of it known to man, and I failed on all attempts. The thing I found with NRT was that, subconciously, I always thought that I was miising the fags so much I HAD to replace them with something else. Hence why I failed to stop on every previous occasion.
When I stopped I had all the symptoms you have had, night sweats, insomnia and, when I eventually got to sleep, the most vivid and frightening dreams I have ever had. These were so vivid I often woke up worrying that they had actually happened.

Anyway, without preaching and hopining not top sound a smart !!!. these symptoms go away very quickly, after a week I could just about sleep through.

I also tried not to avoid any siyuation where I used to smoke, not saying this will work for you all, but it did for me. It made me realise that whatever you can do with a fag you can do without, you just smell less.

So keep at it, you will not regret it

    Best of luck
