Great . Just managed to order 2 pairs of glasses for £28.95 plus £9.00 for the voucher. Have used Glasses Direct before and found them to be very good.

Finally just ordered my glasses. The pair i really wanted though i couldnt get, just as the fact i could never get a case with it, so it wouldnt let me order it. Although im still happy with what ive gone for.
I dont suppose anyone else has this voucher left, im willing to pay for a valid voucher

I decided to use my voucher in the end as it allowed me to order from seperate prescriptions.
I got a pair for my 16-year-old son and a pair for myself all for £13.
Both have turned up and I am over the moon with the quality of them :j.
    Thank you Glasses Direct .
Third time lucky on WW I hope :j

  • Perhaps the GD representative would like to comment about my farcical experience.

On the day the offer was available, I applied for a voucher, the order was accepted and Groupon e-mailed an activated voucher the following day (22nd July). When I tried to use it (after going through all the ordering/selection stuff), I found that the voucher code was rejected as ‘not recognised’. I contacted Glasses Direct who confirmed that the code was correct, but they were unable to help and suggested I contacted Groupon. I did this immediately and they accepted that something was wrong and I was promised a call back in the next 2 days. This never happened, so on 9th August, I e-mailed both Groupon and Glasses Direct explaining my problem. Neither company replied or even acknowledged my message. I e-mailed both companies again on 13th August and again, neither company replied.
Yesterday, in exasperation I called Groupon and the contact again said he would investigate the problem and later that day sent me the following message: - quote “

    Hi Richard,
    Thank you for talking earlier.

I have now been told that we are only offering refunds on those codes
as it was a problem across the database. Apologies as based on our
phone call you would have liked the vouchers resent.

Unfortunately it is not possible. If you need to speak further you can
contact me directly. I can process the refund at any time for you.

    Kind Regards

You will not be surprised to learn that I have been deeply unimpressed by both Groupons and GDs lack of any real customer service - particularly GD, who never even acknowledged my messages. Perhaps both companies have a policy of viral anti-marketing.

    Hi Richard33,

I'm *so* sorry you've had this experience. I'm annoyed and sorry we didn't nip this on in the bud early on.
I'm also very surprised at our customer services not replying to your emails, we normally respond to emails within 24 hours. I'm really sorry that hasn't happened in this case.

I'll make sure customer services find any emails you've sent and figure out why they weren't responded to.

So let me sort this out now, if we can get in touch with each other I'll issue you with a new discount code.

I'll get in touch with one of the MSE staff who can forward on my contact details to you.

Please does anyone have a spare voucher as I didn't see this offer - (probably due to me now needing glasses!)

    Happy to fully reimburse.

    Many thanks
