Few questions if the Rep's still here,

    1) I have Stockholm Alpine 08s currently - can anyone tell me the dimensions of these because they're perfect and I want more!

    2) I'm looking for a nice pair for my wedding on 31st July and then obviously for everyday use - anyway I can have them delivered before then?

    3) - The reason I'm after new glasses is because my lenses (got all upgrades bar making them thinner) have chips out of them where the kids have dropped them. Are they plastic or glass and is there anyway to prevent this (bar killing the kids?)

    Thanks for this great offer.

    1) Arm: 140, Frame width: 137, Lens: 54, Bridge: 19, Frame depth: 34
    2) Congratulations! I can't promise that I'm afraid, I will do everything I can to try and get something through though - I can't contact you directly to get your order details. I'll see if MSE can pass on an email from me to you in the background.
    3) We use plastic lenses. Apart from a scratch resistant coating there's not much to do about kids grabbing and dropping them. (I have that experience every day too :) ) You could possibly try bigger plastic frames that cover the edge of the lenses, rather than metal ones that expose the edge of the lenses.

Just wanted to warn anyone with a strong prescription not to order this offer. I got and paid for the coupon. Went to order my glasses today only to find out that they 'cannot accomodate' my prescription strength! (I'm a -8.00 in one eye and -8.50 in the other). A real shame, but I've now requested a refund from Groupon.

Yes it's a shame this wasn't highlighted for people with really strong prescriptions. I'm one of the majority I suppose with a fairly weak prescription so I'm over the moon. :o

  • I ordered two vouchers today at £9 each (Martin's website told me no limit on how many).
Got my confirmation e.mail shortly after to say that once the £39 for£9 offer has successfully closed, they will send me my voucher.
Am a bit confused really as I'm thinking that I will now lose out on the offer of 2 for 1 now.
Can anyone please throw any light on the subject!!!!

I never thought of this! I like semi-rimless but I think as my second pair (for use at home with the kids!) I'll order some full-rimmed ones. Good thinking GD rep:)

As for sorting something out RE - for the wedding, my name's REMOVED! I doubt they'll be many of me ordering today when you see my name!

    A) You can use 1 voucher per transaction.

    B) The 2 for 1 is going on until the 5th of August - plenty of time! :D

  • Thanks for that AngelsMadv.
Am thinking though, that with them saying that they will send the voucher when the offer has closed, surely I will not have to wait until 5th of August for the vouchers?

I am also an optician and this is simply not the case. In the US, many states (at least half) prohibit the sale of glasses from an optician (eye doctor in the US) who tests your site. They have a thriving business with customers having regular sight tests and as far as I am are the US has no major issues with ocular health.

I for one would welcome the separation of sight testing and the sale of glasses.

I'm not sure I believe you are an optician as you would know that the US works on a totally different system based on private medical payments. In the US optometrists get much much more money for every sight test performed as so they don't have to rely on spectacle sales.

p.s. again to people who are worried, free eyetests are the same as paid eyetests.. all the same checks should be done.

It closes tonight, Janine. I bought mine yesterday so I got mine today - you'll get yours tomorrow :) HTH!

Get your basket ready if you can't wait and put your prescription in - Don't forget Quidco for 18% cashback!
