That's amazing if it turns out to be real. I am SUCH a big Elvis fan and would love to find a collection like that! Amazing! x

for all you cynics out there ................................

a copy of this letter was sent to christies and their reply was that they COULD NOT determine 100% whether or not it was elvis's own hand.

hence , the letter will sell for whatever it fetches on ebay whether it be £36 or £36,000.

I have made nearly £2000 already from items already sold and I am by no means near the end of selling things from this clearance.

and yes I like a gamble. I know this is a big gamble but it is one I have thought about and am prepared to take the risk.

People know what they want and they know what they want to pay.

I am not a greedy man and I like my life as it is. I work hard as a digger driver and I love my job. The clearances are more of a hobby than anything. I have no debts and no mortgage and I dont do the lottery. A large amount of money would probably spoil my perfect life with the woman I love , so personally I hope its not genuine. money can sometimes change people and I dont want to change.

The enjoyment of the chase in this instance is the fact of the unknown , as in my clearances where you never know what you may find.

I just got a capital one credit card just to see if i could and to build up a credit rating , not because I need one , but just for the chase.

I know some people are not as fortunate as me and may think I am mad , but dont judge me , you dont know me.

by the way they did say it was a genuine elvis fan club letter but could not determine whether it was his own hand

I haven't responded to this thread but have been reading with great interest. I just wanted to comment though. That is one of the most beautiful things I have ever read! You sound like a very happy man! I wish more people were like you!

buggles , thankyou for your reply.

I started this post so that people could get involved and see it through. I have spent many hours watching the ups and downs of people on MSE even crying at the plights of some people.

this letter is the unknown now and thats the way I like it. If this thread gives someone enjoyment till the end of the auction and gives them something to look forward to each night then I am happy that they have a purpose in life this week.

my wife likes facebook , I like MSE . we can not talk for hours when we are typing away but then talk for days about what we have been doing / saying afterwards. so we always have something to talk about.

now that is a good life ................:j

Long time lurker here, about 6 or 7 years actuallly, but this is the first time I've felt the need to post.

Its quite interesting, the envelope is addressed to a chap in Bradford. I dont want to include personal details here but it is on the listing for all to see.

Now, if you search imdb . com for 'Johnny Bradford', look at entry 21. For those of you who cant be bothered, he was a writer, and in 1960 worked with Frank Sinatra on an Elvis TV show.

I'm not saying its the same guy, it probably isnt, but its a hell of a coinicidence. Or an elaborate hoax.................

I havent as yet been able to find any link with the surname on the envelope and the surname 'Bradford'. So there probably isnt one.

OP, I'm not in any way suggesting that you are trying to pull a fast one, if it is a hoax then this could have been instigated at any time in the past.
