Ok imagine you are in the same position as the original poster says in the first post you believe you have a Elvis Presley letter that some basic research say it could be worth thousands of pounds.Norbertsmum wrote: »How do we know it is a fake?
Do you- Take to an expert get it verified as genuine and sell it for thousands of pounds
- Chuck it on ebay and see if you can get a hundred pounds or so because it's not been verified as real.
It's a no brainer it's a fake0 -

Lets just clear this up a little.
The listing clearly stated that the letter had not been verified or denounced , which it hadnt.
The buyer paid me in cash which I didnt request or want.
he received the letter Friday lunch time ( tracked ) and didnt ring me till 7pm Sunday.
I stated in the listing that I had no interest in the letter and bidders should pay what they think.
the winning bidder had also seen this thread before hand as it was mentioned in communication from him
a copy of the letter was sent to christies who could not determine whether it was genuine or not ( this was stated in one of my first posts )
so , the facts are there , tear me to pieces or dont , I didnt try to screw anyone over and resent posters who try to make it out like this.
his arguement is that i said the letter was handwritten , which it clearly is , and he says it is a photocopy / stock letter that was sent out by elvis workers and only the persons name is handwritten. Now whilst i dont dispute that this MAY be the case ( I genuinely dont know ) I believe the listing was accurate , and come on , if I had stated it was definitely genuine do you think it would have gone for £122 . I made enough money from this clearance and still am . every item I sold from it on ebay has recieved a 100% feedback.
if buyer wishes to leave a neg , then good for him. greed is not an option I pursue.
lessons learnt on both sides I think and money will NOT be refunded , and if you dont like my decision anyone , tough luck because it stands
