If you do hand deliver it make sure it's cash only. As people can chargeback Paypal. If you do it through Paypal make sure it goes through a reputable courier or Special Delivery. Providing it sells for a lot mind you.

It's already at the very top of the limit for standard mail, once it hits £42 it needs special delivery.
surely even with special delivery covering you up to 2.5 k , if they claimed it was blank paper ,where would you stand with Ebay , Paypal or the Royal Mail ??

I tend to believe most people on ebay are honest, if I thought every buyer was going to scam me i would give up. If you can't trust buyers then it is back to the original advice of a Bricks and mortar auction house for everything in future.

I trust buyers up to around 2 - 300 pounds or so - if it reached serious money the real sharks would start to circle

    imo
As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question ! ;)

If it were me selling this I'd put the letter and the envelope in separate cellophane or some other sort of plastic bag and seal the bags with sellotape. I would also modify my listing while I still had the chance to say this is how the letter and envelope would be packed. That way there is a record of two items being shipped.
